THE PROMISE is a one-of-a-kind musical production performed annually at the Texas Amphitheater in Glen Rose, Texas. It combines an award winning musical score with a 100-person cast and crew, live animals, historically accurate costumes, and breathtaking lights, sound and special effects, all of which tell the story of the life of Jesus Christ in modern family-friendly fashion. Over the years, The Promise has been performed in Moscow Russia, Branson, Missouri, and Seoul, Korea, all the while maintaining its performances in Glen Rose, TX. In the fall of 2022, The Promise will celebrate 34 consecutive years of performances in Glen Rose. The Texas Amphitheatre stage has forty foot walls and arches that tower above a 4,000 square foot tri-level stage. A 45,000 gallon waterway, which runs the length of the structure, separates the stage from the seating area. The Promise is the only outdoor production with a moat and only outdoor theatre in the nation with a rain curtain.

Amazing experience
All of the play was my favorite. I liked the fact that it was scripture from beginning to the end. He was called by his Hebrew name Yeshua and Jesus also. I liked the priest’s saying prayers in Hebrew. The special effects were amazing. With the water baptism and the boat in the water. The live animals and the small children singing along with the adults. I can’t say enough about how blessed I was to experience the play. Colleen

Outstanding and Professional
Do't miss the latest production of "The Promise". The director manages to make it a fresh production every year. This is definitely not an amateur effort. Compelling story, beautiful costumes in an amphitheater with nothing but good seats.
