4.5Bear Lake(1.669 reviews) - Beautiful, and an easy hike Bodies of Water
We visited late afternoon/early evening in July. I didn’t think it was very busy. Many people just walk a few yards on the trail to take pictures of the lake, and then turn back. The lake with the mountain backdrop is gorgeous. The water is flat, clear, and peaceful.See more..
5.0Manitou Springs Incline(848 reviews) - Challenge yourself with this crazy workout! Spent More than 3 hours Bodies of Water • Hiking Trails
So happy I got to experience this memorable hike up these 2768 railties! I’m a 52 year old, fit woman, who lives at altitude in NM, and I found this climb VERY challenging. It took me 1:17 to ascend just under a mile to the summit. Then about one hour to descend via the four mile trail. Some areas were a bit icy, so it might be wise to bring micro spikes if you got em. You need to make a (free but required) reservation during The Great Pause, as they are limiting the number of trekkers at any given hour, in order to keep people safe. Just Do It!!!See more..

4.5Sprague Lake(402 reviews) - Very user friendly walk with everything wonderful RMNP has to offer in one stop! Bodies of Water
This was my favorite hike in the park and I would consider us intermediate hikers. I felt like oh this is just a quick stop at sunrise but wow, was it wonderful. Super flat wide path around the lake so more of a walk but it had so many treasures. Parking super close, picnic area. The path meandered over streams, the lake view grew more spectacular with each new vantage point we walked counterclockwise and went to watch the sunrise. A momma moose and her calf were feeding, flowers, trees, Mountain View’s, sounds, smells, breezes. Everything you imagine National park to be in this walk that was very easy and would be great if not up for a hike.See more..
4.5Lily Lake(365 reviews) - Always Beautiful Lily Lake Bodies of Water
Lily Lake is always beautiful but due to the apparent drought the area has been experiencing, it is several feet down from what one would normally see in the spring and early summer months. There are restrooms available and parking at the lake and also across the road. There are several trails to walk. We especially like the one that encircles the lake. It's an easy walk so almost anyone could do it. There are benches available with beautiful views of the lake if you need a break in your trek. The lake is part of Rocky Mountain National Park which due to the Pandemic is requiring visitors to make reservations at a cost of $2.00 per day to access the park in order to keep crowds at a minimum. There was a sign at Lily Lake indicating that the reservation was required to visit the lake. There was no one on duty to check for reservations so people were just walking in.See more..
4.5Animas River(338 reviews) - Nice public Park on the Riverwalk Bodies of Water
We were delighted to find this lovely free public park right on the banks of the Animas River in downtown Durango. There were tables, benches, and green grassy areas for kids to play. Plus the river walk, with a pedestrian bridge is nearby so one can enjoy the river after their picnic. We ate in our car in the parking area. We had found a nice shady place to park, but the picnic table in that area was filled with a large group of people, many of which were smoking. The drifting smoke forced us away from that spot. Nevertheless we enjoyed our picnic and then had time to enjoy the river walk and watch kayakers and some individual rafters, as well as a few rafting tours.See more..

4.5Keystone Lake(128 reviews) - Best summer fun in Summit County! Bodies of Water
If you want to know where to go in a town just ask a local mom. On a hiking trail by Breck we met a mom that listed off kid friendly things to do in the area. She said Keystone Lake & Adventure Center. She was right! Pavilion lake side was perfect for lunch, outdoor checkers, AND then the paddle boats! Paddle boat highlights were ducks jumping on back of boat and huge trout jumping as we fed them fish food. The lake has ducks and fish so plenty that they are their own attraction! Kayaks & paddle boards were also fun. What a hit! Beautiful scenery of lake with mountains in the background! The Adventure Center staff, Don, Garrett, & Patrick were very friendly and helpful to our family AND the biggest reason we came back again durning our stay in the area. The Adventure Center had games, wii, bikes to rent and ride around the lake, snack bar, comfortable lounge, and refreshments. Loved our time at Keystone Lake & Adventure Center. Great time & great value for our big family!See more..
4.5Cottonwood Lake(124 reviews) - Beautiful mountain lake Bodies of Water

4.5Bierstadt Lake(116 reviews) - Tough hike but fabulous view Bodies of Water
We did a morning 1-1/2 mile hike in mid-August to Bierstadt Lake from the shuttle bus stop. Pls note that there are two other trails available for this lake: from Bear Lake, 2 miles and from the Park & Ride point, 1.5 miles. The bus stop trail was a moderate one, basically hugging the mountain, going uphill (566 ft) via switchbacks. Not only was the incline challenging but the exposure to the sun made the trek “more than moderate”. However the last 10 percent of the hike was under tree cover and flat which was a great culmination to a fabulous view of the lake, the surrounding trees and the mountains in the background. IMO, one of the best photo ops in the RMNP.See more..

4.5Sawmill Reservoir(89 reviews) - Wondeful trail - and treated by a serene reservoir surrounded by the mountains! Bodies of Water
We hiked the Sawmill Trail up from Breckenridge, following under one of the ski lifts for a bit. Suddenly you pop out to amazing vistas of the Sawmill Reservoir! Easy to walk all the way around, taking in the beauty and (for us on this day) the calm waters. We sat for an hour and watched a kayak class learn. People were picnicking and generally just enjoying the beauty of this mountain reservoir. One of our highlights!See more..

I’ve been going to this lake since I was 3 years old. Amazing fishing, amazing recreation opportunity, amazing everything. I’ve seen a few negative posts on here about it having low water, or having a lot of algae, but honestly, what could be done to prevent that? Nothing. It’s nature it’ll happen. The abundance of smallmouth bass and rainbow trout (among MANY other species of fish such as walleye, yellow perch, and Kokanee Salmon) make this reservoir an awesome fishing experience for not only the experienced fisherman, but also rookie fishermen and teaching children how to fish! A big enough reservoir for jetskis, water skiing, knee boarding, etc, and still be able to be in peace in the deeper canals such as House Creek and Beaver Creek, to escape the recreational water goers. I would recommend this lake to anyone!!See more..

5.0Dream Lake(66 reviews) - Very crowded but very scenic Bodies of Water
This is the middle lake in the Emerald Lake Trail triad. It is gorgeous, clear water (you can see fish ) and very scenic — great views of Hallett Peak and Flattop Mountain. It is also very easy to get to — 1.1 miles on the trail with 425 feet of elevation rise. We hiked in the morning and the lake and the train near were very crowded — tons of people taking selfies and group pics. It did not get better on our way back from Emerald Lake, the final lake, which was 0.7 miles away up the trail.See more..
5.0Blue Lakes(65 reviews) - Rough road, but worth it! Spent More than 3 hours Bodies of Water
We drove up to the first lake, half of our group walked around the lake to the large waterfall & the other half walked up to the second lake. It’s a long steep incline up to the second lake, so unless you are used to hiking, I recommend you drive to the upper lake. The hike around the lower lake is much easier & allows for younger & older visitors to enjoy the area. The road up has recently been grated, so it’s a much easier road than the road to the first lake. At the top lake area, there is another waterfall & another lake. We saw mountain goats at the top lake. Views from above are AMAZING!! See more..

5.0Mills Lake(46 reviews) - Loved this hike! Spent More than 3 hours Bodies of Water
We did this hike on an early morning in July. With our timed entry reservation, we thought we'd have no trouble parking, but we were wrong. At 6:30 am, the parking lot at Glacier Gorge and at Bear Lake were completely full. Luckily, I remember a small parking lot about a half-mile before you get to Glacier Gorge. It only has about 5 spaces, but we got one of them. So we then walked along the road (a bit dangerous but very doable) to get to the Glacier Gorge trailhead. The hike itself was wonderful. Great scenery and not too crowded. It passes Alberta Falls. Very nice! Easy trail to follow until you get right near the top when you are just walking on large rocks. Notice your way up this last part so you can find the trail coming down again; we were a bit lost until we saw some other people coming up. Took us a little under 2 hours to get to the lake at a fairly leisurely pace. Wear your mask and enjoy!See more..
Stunning. We came on a recommendation from our server at Restaurant 415 and she did not steer us wrong. We drove up and looked at the views and it was spectacular. Would love to come again and go out on the water. It's breathtaking. You can spend a little time there soaking up the views or spend the day on the water. Lovely spot not to be missed!See more..
5.0Montrose Water Sports Park(44 reviews) - Great City Park in Montrose CO! Spent 1-2 hours Bodies of Water • Parks
This park is a great city park with lots of activities for all! Young or old, there are things to do for everyone! Biking, skateboarding. 4.5Echo Lake Park(38 reviews) - Beautiful encounter with mother nature Spent 1-2 hours Bodies of Water • Parks
The 10 miles drive from Idaho Springs at the end of March was safe and easy. The Echo Lodge right after the Lake is literally covered by ice, unreachable and so is the road to Mount Evans. You won't see the Lake since is frozen and because the recent snow is covered by a white blanket. Birds and a Squirrel asked for food. We saw a lot of Deers marks and poo. It was a nice, easy, short hike. Unexpected for us. Bathrooms were open.See more..

5.0Lake Haiyaha(35 reviews) - Beautiful Lake on Less Traveled Trail Spent More than 3 hours Bodies of Water
Added a hike to Lake Haiyaha on the return from Emerald lake and it was well worth the extra effort. The trail from Bear Lake Trailhead to Emerald Lake is quite popular. It was nice to veer off on the trail to Lake Haiyaha which is much less traveled, The views of the Bear Lake area and Morraine Valley are quite spectacular as you make the tough ascent to the lake. When arriving at the lake , getting a good view is challenging as it requires scaling up the rocks surrounding the lake. Although I found this quite fun, it may create a challenge for some.See more..

4.5Meridian Lake(23 reviews) - Love swimming in mountain lakes? This is the place!! Bodies of Water • Hiking Trails
One of my favorite things in the world is swimming in a cool mountain lake. This one is special because you get a nice short hike before hand, then a breathtaking view! You can go right down to the edge and plunge in, or you can do a little cliff jumping. The water is not as cold as I thought it would be at this elevation. It was very comfortable. One thing to note is that a map I read said you can hike all the way around the lake, but the path was blocked by private residence barbed wire. Maybe I missed something, but it did seem limited. 4.5Pinewood Reservoir(23 reviews) - So close for lakeside camping Bodies of Water
Not all of the campsites feel secluded as you are still near a road and homes but many of them are nestled in the trees. It's nice because the larger RVs don't make it up here so there aren't generators and most of the sites are walk up so you are only surrounded by tents. The lake doesn't allow motorized boats so it is quiet and perfect for kayaking and fishing. There is a trail that goes all around the lake at around 3 miles and another loop can be added for more distance. Where the lake is fed the water swirls and you can hear the sound of small waves. The bathrooms could use to be pumped out more often but they're stocked with paper and they're near the campsites and the lake entry. The campground has some fun areas set up for kids to dig in the sand or jump across log pieces. They also have a scope set up on the south end of the lake to view an Osprey nest. We love how close to home this campground is letting us drive there and be completely set up in just over an hour.See more..
3.0Paradise Cove Swimming Hole(22 reviews) - Great for Cliff Jumping, Not Enough Space to Swim Bodies of Water
Beautiful spot; quick and easy 10 minute hike from parking ($6 fee to park). We thoroughly enjoyed cliff jumping into the water and lounging in the sun. We came to jump, not swim, but if swimming had been our goal we would have been disappointed, as the swimming hole is quite small and therefore doesn't allow for people to swim safely while others are jumping into the water from the cliffs above. Either way, we had a fantastic time and would absolutely come back if we return to the area.See more..
