We did a Family Float today and it was fantastic. Allison was my boat’s guide and she was friendly, outgoing, and very knowledgeable about what she was doing. She gave great directions when needed. She also gave us great recommendations for things to do in the area. The information she gave us about the company - when we asked - makes me recommend them even more. The next time we are ready for a rafting tour, AAE will be the first one we look to. Thanks for an awesome trip! See more..
  2. 5.0 Raft Masters (1.293 reviews)
    - Shop no further and book at Raft Masters.

    Raft Masters image
I shopped a lot to find the best Royal Gorge rafting experience. But frankly, the rapids and rafts are the same no matter which rafting company you choose. Raft Masters was the least expensive and proved to be an excellent choice. They are extremely friendly, helpful and well organized, Our guide, ShepDog, went out of his way to make us feel comfortable and safe, and to make an excellent trip even more fun. Don't sweat the footwear. They provide rubber booties free of charge. Lockers are 75 cents and can hold your shoes and other valuables. I'd recommend the morning run. It's cooler, there is less chance of rain or a storm, and Raft Masters is presently offering a $10 discount. See more..
  3. 5.0 Alpine Scenic Jeep Tours (897 reviews)
    - Second time around
    Monday: 7:00 AM - 7:00 PM 4WD, ATV & Off-Road Tours • Sightseeing Tours • Private Tours
    Alpine Scenic Jeep Tours image
Last year while vacationing from Virginia, my wife and I visited Alpine Scenic Jeep Tours. The tour that we purchased was a four hour, private tour of Corkscrew Pass and the Red Mountains. It was unbelievable! The Red Mountains were absolutely beautiful. At that time, I remember telling my wife that we would return again some day. Little did I know that we would back again this year! After returning home last year and describing the tour and the sights we saw, we invited a couple of family members to share this year what we had experienced. This year again, we asked for a four hour private tour. Last years tour guide was a great guide. Both fun and informative. This years guide was ‘Rob’. Rob proved to be just as good as last year. If not more! He provided tons of information along the trail. He helped with photo suggestions and helped out with group pics as well. And with Rob’s suggestions, we were even able to visit other areas this year that we missed last year. With Rob as our guide, the tour was not just a vanilla, pre rehearsed presentation. There was something to experience around every corner! We talked about the area, our personal lives and our families. At the end of the day, we had been presented one of the most beautiful areas we had ever seen. We had experienced tons of fun. And we felt like we had made a special friend in Rob. See more..

    - Fabulous tour of Monument Valley

    Mesa Verde Tour Experience image
Our 3.5 hour tour of Monument Valley with Dineh Bekeyah Tours was amazing. Yvonne was informative, professional, and gave us cultural insights we could not have gotten without a personal tour. Thanks to the Navajo tribe for its precautions in this era of COVID. Although I understand there are complaints about its mask requirements, anyone wary of traveling these days will find the safety measures logical and reassuring. See more..

This was such an amazing experience! I am a photographer and we went on a private Alta Lakes Tour during sunset with another couple to shoot and the views were incredible. Neither of us had been snowmobiling before so it was a great first experience. Tate was our guide and showed us all the amazing spots to get some of the best photos and very helpful and made it all enjoyable the whole trip. Highly recommend! See more..
  6. 5.0 Lucky 8 Ranch (194 reviews)
    - Bison and Vistas around Steamboat Springs
    Monday: 9:00 AM - 5:30 PM 4WD, ATV & Off-Road Tours • Sightseeing Tours • Nature & Wildlife Tours
    Lucky 8 Ranch image
We thoroughly enjoyed the ATV tour around the 3100 acre Lucky 8 Bison Ranch. Our guide, Emily, led us up, down and around this beautiful elevated area. The ranch now has about 400 head of bison. We got close (and stayed in our vehicles) and learned about their habits, history in the US and watched them in their environment. Emily also took us to vista lookout points. Each couple/family drove their own 2 or 4 seater Polaris vehicle. Driving at a moderate speed took some concentration. The tour was all of 3 hours. But other than hiking in the forests, I can think of no better way (outside of winter) to get a feel for the landscape and ranch environment of the Steamboat Springs area. See more..
  7. 4.5 Rock-N-Row Inc. (154 reviews)
    - Fun family rafting trip with a great company!
    Sightseeing Tours
    Rock-N-Row Inc. image
We booked a half-day rafting tour after finding a Groupon discount that allowed our family of six to raft for half the price of the previous company we had booked with. It was well worth it! Tito was our guide, and he was excellent! Every employee that we came in contact with at this company seemed genuinely happy to be working there! That says a lot! You don’t need to go rafting with some big-name company when you can get the same experience with a smaller more personalized company like this one! One thing to know, they don’t always have someone taking pictures of your rafting trip so if that’s important to you bring your own waterproof camera like I did or buy a waterproof floating case for your phone and put that around your neck or lifevest. You may also want to bring water or buy water right at the office from them! See more..
  8. 5.0 Snowmass Creek Outfitters (145 reviews)
    - Memory to last a lifetime!

    Snowmass Creek Outfitters image
We had an amazing time with Snowmass Creek Outfitters. The staff here know their stuff. We are beginner riders and they made sure we were comfortable safe and were having a great time. Our guide was very knowledgeable she explained the history of the land, pointed out relevant landmarks and was just the most genuine, friendly person. She really made our experience so much more enjoyable with the level of her knowledge! We learned about irrigation, horses, weather conditions and local hiking spots, elevation and mountains in the area. Our horses (Scar and Yamika) were very well trained and they know what is expected of them. They seem to like working. I was so impressed at how well they took to the mountain side. It was obvious they are seasoned pros or as they are otherwise known as the “Cadillac’s” of the group! Thank you for taking the time to show us your special part of the world in Snowmass. We had an unbelievable time riding with you! See more..
  9. 5.0 Mountain Musher (52 reviews)
    - Loved by all!
    Sightseeing Tours
    Mountain Musher image
This was enjoyed by all 8 of us, ranging from 5 years old to 67. The ride was exciting, informative and fun. It is obvious that the dogs are treated well and respected by their owner. Every musher was friendly and told us about the dogs, other wildlife (elk, deer, bear etc) in the area, pointed out various animal tracks in the snow, the aspens - just a lot of interesting information. They thanked us numerous times for coming. The mushers work hard, keeping the trail clear of fallen branches, caring for the dogs, etc, so we could have fun. The stop with pumpkin bread and hot chocolate was enjoyed by all. Our grand kids said “let’s make this an annual tradition!” See more..
  10. 5.0 Outwest Guides - Day Tours (18 reviews)
    - Forget the rest!
    Sightseeing Tours
Outwest Guides - Day Tours image
We cam to western Colorado with intentions of seeing the fall color change of leaves and beautiful scenery. We had every intention to, and wanted to, visit the Maroon Bells near Aspen. Unfortunately, due to the governmental stalemate, this venue is closed. :) We called a few outdoor outfitters in the Aspen, hoping to take a horseback tour and see the season colors. Our search came up empty due to closure/s, and hunting trips. Well, we found out about OutWest Outfitters. :) We were able to get a two hour guided trip into the Maroon Bells/Snowmass Wilderness areas. Phenomenal views! Great animals! Super guide!(James). We rode in to areas above 10,000 feet and saw some stunning views. Thanks for 'showing us a good time.' See more..
  11. 4.5 Orient Land Trust Tours (7 reviews)
    - Awesome bat site!
    Sightseeing Tours
    Orient Land Trust Tours image
We drove out close to dusk to see thousands of bats leave a deserted mine and head out over the valley. It was fantastic. The bats are there seasonally so it is good to call their website and make sure that the bats are on site. Allow plenty of time, the road leading to Orient Land Trust is unimproved (level, but bumpy, so a slow go). When you arrive park in the designated area and go to their Visitor Center. Sign in and they will give you a map and brochure. The hike up to the mine takes an hour (depending on how fast you walk) and it is all up hill. Take flashlights, as you will come down after dark. We truly enjoyed watching the bats. It took less than 10 minutes for them to vacate the mine. There was no charge for the bat hike; however day use fees are charged for using the other amenities. The property is clothing optional. See more..
  12. 5.0 Many Ponies Outfit (4 reviews)
    - Fantastic horseback riding alternative to Roudys
Sightseeing Tours • Horseback Riding Tours
    Many Ponies Outfit image
We were looking for horseback Riding near Telluride, and were going to go to Ride with Rowdy, but he is closed on Sundays. With only a day's notice, I called Many Ponies ranch, and was able to book a 2 hour ride for the next day. Linda was our guide and was very friendly. She took our riding experience into account, and selected horses that had spirit that we could handle well. They limit their group size to 6 riders as well. The ride starts with learning western style riding commands, which the horses are used to. Also, a "cowboy jog" is practiced, which is a little like a canter but slower. Once out on the trail, Linda was full of information about the area, as they live there and have neighbors nearby. Part of the ride is on a public unpaved road, and part on BLM land on a trail. We saw evidence of cougers which the gov't was studying, but not much else save for some deer and rabbit. Many ponies also boards horses for private owners, so their rates are reasonable. I'd definitely recommend this place, its about 45 minutes from downtown Telluride, and on the way to Cortez. Its a nice alternative to Rowdy, if you just want to ride a horse without the theatrics. (Once your'e done riding, head to the Lone Cone in Norwood for some Excellent burgers.) See more..
  13. 5.0 Big Round World (1 review)
    - Amazing Hike Across England with Hadrian's Wall - INCREDIBLE!
Monday: 9:00 AM - 6:00 PM Historical & Heritage Tours • Walking Tours • Sightseeing Tours
    Big Round World image
The Hike Across England including Hadrian's Wall was a phenomenal trip, expertly blending quality hiking with history, culture, local guides, and carefully planned accommodations. Because Deirdre is meticulous in her planning, my husband and I (who have never hiked before) were well-equipped, perfectly outfitted with the proper gear, and fully understood the physical demands of each day. In fact, we found the days' hikes to be a bit less strenuous than we'd anticipated, with plenty of stops, breaks, hillside lunches, and anecdotal stories from our daily guest leaders. The two rest days were timed well and allowed for plenty of shopping and self-guided time. From the ancient history of Hadrian's Wall, to a private performance in a historic church on an antique organ, to details and sightings of rare flora and fauna, fields and fields of lambs and heather and stone walls and GREEN, to hiking techniques, lessons in orienteering, conservation, mining, farming, and geological treasures, to evening meals of culinary excellence and evening programming featuring volunteer mountain rescue personnel and private musical concerts - all with so many breathtaking views and vistas... I'm so glad I took extensive photos and video footage so we can relive the adventure! Already thinking about the next trip with Deirdre. We will definitely be repeat customers! See more..
