  3. 4.5 Wild Animal Sanctuary (690 reviews)
    - What an Amazing Experience!
Monday: 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM Spent More than 3 hours Zoos
    Wild Animal Sanctuary image
My granddaughter originally did not want to go since she does not like zoos. But this is no zoo! The animals have large spaces in which to live, and the Wild Animal Sanctuary provides a lot of education to guests about the animals in their care. Since we visited during a very hot season and were attending during the day, we arrived at 9 AM as recommended. All the staff we met during our visit were very helpful and friendly. One even told us we could get our water bottles refilled at the cafe at the end of the elevated walkway before making the return trip. There were numerous places along the way to stop and rest (and get out of the sun)! Instead of binoculars, I had my camera with a 70-200mm lens. Despite the heat, we saw many animals and all of us, including my granddaughter, were delighted and enthralled. The metal sculptures were also incredible. I was amazed at how reasonable prices were for food, water, and gift items. We especially enjoyed the Denver Pops! See more..
