What a lovely studio and even more lovely proprietor. Went here on a date and it was a very nice way to get acquainted. Neysa is the owner and she creates a calm environment where quiet conversation is possible while she is not instructing. Alcohol is served but certainly not required. When I first walked into the Painted Turtle Studio 3 years ago I fell in love immediately. My kind of place: kids, art, colors everywhere, nice music, friendly people. I have since become a part of the studio and now teach classes to kids and participate in classes as a student. When my daughter first told me about this, I was surprised that such a place existed. My Father was a painter, and was amazing! As a published author, I am always looking for anything “out of the ordinary”, because these are usually the best things! The idea of a place where you can paint and have refreshments was one of these! It excited my imagination. When my husband and I came to see our daughter in the week of my birthday, she surprised me by taking us and her boyfriend to a class. I was so excited to see this, I almost couldn’t contain myself. While it was several years ago in the old location, I have never forgotten it! The painting is on my living room wall. A few weeks ago, Laura told me about the online classes, and I’ve been doing them ever since! I live in Arkansas, so this has given me a whole new exciting creativity! If you've done wine and painting before, you know the instructors, space and overall feel of the event is more important than what you're actually painting or how your personal masterpiece comes out. Picasso and Wine is my favorite wine and painting option in the area (I've been to other studios in Loveland, Fort Collins and Denver). The staff is always wonderful, the space is clean, inviting and well appointed, and the instruction always makes me feel like maybe I actually CAN paint. I haven't honed my skills yet enough to start framing what I've created, but there are a few of my pieces hung on walls at our office and my parents house, so they definitely know what they're doing here (since I definitely don't). Pricing is comparable to other studios AND your first glass of wine is included (not the case everywhere). We will definitely be back and this is always my first recommendation when people ask about wine and painting classes.See more..
