Excellent ATV tour in the wilderness by Kremmling CO. Guides really took the time to explain and coach navigating the trails. Guided tour went further faster and on rougher roads than I would have tried alone without confidence in the vehicles. Recommend a side by side with roll bar for safety and comfort. Recommend trying for the spot behind the guide so you get to see how they handle the obstacles and learn quickly. See more..

We drove this road today to get from Ouray to Telluride, opting for this route instead of the more daunting Imogene pass. Just use your 4wd, focus on the road and take it slow. The views are stunning and oncoming traffic was very polite—everyone watched to see other vehicles approaching and adjusted to make the passing safe. The most harrowing part is going downhill on those rock roads near the top but we had a great time. See more..

We rented a Jeep from Overland Adventure in Pagosa Springs. We took it up Elwood Pass. SOOO much to see and so worth it. If you aren't familiar with 4 wheeling I don't recommend you attempt this without someone that is a good driver in the mountains. Kids 9 and 11 had a lot of fun. We got out and stopped at several places. We did stop at Silver Falls. So again need a 4 wheel drive vehicle and need to be familiar with 4WD. See more..

This Jeep trail has amazing views and not too long (2-3 hours). It takes you by Potato Lake. Must have a 4x4 and take your time driving this one. There is a part of the trail that narrows and you are driving on the edge, so if you have a fear of heights, I do not recommend. No rails. Glad we drove this one! See more..

This is rated as an expert trail and not recommended for those who don’t have the proper vehicle or experience. Rented a 4-seater from Creede Adventure Rentals. Easy and quick process. Took out with map in hand. We did Engineer Pass out of Lake City a couple of years ago and we were concerned that this would not measure up! No issue. Although Engineer took more skill and was more challenging, Rat Creek Loop is way more scenic than Engineer. So for couples that want a challenge, go to Lake City. But For a great family adventure, can’t beat Rat Creek! See more..
