  4. 4.5 Sand Dunes Recreation Hot Springs Pool (223 reviews)
    - A treasure!
    Hot Springs & Geysers
Sand Dunes Recreation Hot Springs Pool image
This campground is a gem! We've been coming here since 2017. This year, I noticed that the bathrooms were particularly , dare I say, sparkly clean. That single detail turned this place from a good campground into a great campground. Next morning, I happened to walk in precisely when restrooms were being cleaned so...I had the pleasure of meeting Casey when I complimented her on a job well done. The majestic Sangre de Cristo mountains provide an ever changing landscape. In addition to a well maintained hot springs pool, they have an 21 and over Greenhouse that includes several hot tubs of varying temperatures, a walking pool and alcoholic beverages. If you stay at the park the pool and Greenhouse are half off. They also have a restaurant on site that serves tasty and reasonably priced food for the whole family. This place is a little slice of heaven! See more..

  6. 4.0 Salida Hot Springs (132 reviews)
    - A Very Pleasant Break
Monday: 6:00 AM - 8:00 PM Hot Springs & Geysers
    Salida Hot Springs image
We stopped by after a trip to the Great Sand Dunes National Park. After driving most of the day, we thought a stop might be a good break. The facility is much nicer than we expected. The prime feature is the water, of course, and it was warm but without the sulphur smell some warm springs have. The only bad thing? Our girls didn't want to leave. :) See more..

    Avalanche Ranch Hot Springs image
My family had reserved to go here on Christmas Eve from 1:00-5:00. We were in awe of how beautiful it was. It was snowing and I was a little nervous about putting on a bathing suit and transitioning to one of the springs. It wasn't bad at all! We stayed for about 2/2.5 hours even though we could have stayed longer. They take reservations a month in advance so plan ahead. We did not stay on the property but it was beautiful and the little cabins were so cute! One of my family members had a massage on-site and said it was divine. See more..
  9. 3.0 Dakota Hot Springs (65 reviews)
    - Meeeh
Monday: 10:00 AM - 10:00 PM Hot Springs & Geysers
    Dakota Hot Springs image
If you like Cottonwood Hot Springs you will like this one. Both kinda run down, but Dakota is cheaper. The water was warm and most of the visitors were friendly. The front desk lady spoke to us and told us we were too “close”. I had my right hand on my boyfriends left shoulder and he was pulling me around the pool.??? No PDA or funny business, so that was weird. The whole property is spooky and mysterious looking, but that’s part of the appeal. I will continue to go until Desert Reef opens back up! See more..

  11. 3.5 Penny Hot Springs (47 reviews)
    - Only complaint is the people complaining
    Hot Springs & Geysers
    Penny Hot Springs image
The hot spring is au natural! Read into the history a little bit and I found out the locals actually wanted to do away with the hot springs at one point in time. Every time I've been it's been all smiles and solitude. It's an amazing place for a human to be and feel human. You're in the Alpine for goodness sakes, people WILL be nude. People will drink people will also smoke. I never thought it was a big deal. People are even there after dark. Treat this place well and there should be no negativity. Children, parents, everyone can enjoy this place, there are at least three built up rock pools, you may have to adjust the amount of river water but the pools are never cold. Pets love the hot springs and the river, and around September the waters are very calm. The only suggestion is that if you are older I would be extremely wary of the walk from the parking lot to the hot springs themselves. It can be treacherous as the path is just rocks varying in steepness. See more..

  13. 4.5 Conundrum Hot Springs (25 reviews)
    - Conundrum Trail
    Hot Springs & Geysers
    Conundrum Hot Springs image
This is by far the most scenic hike I have ever taken! We did this as an out-and-back. The 8.5 mile trail to the hot springs is relatively packed, has its share of loose rocks, and short stretches of scree. Plan to uphill from the start, though the incline is gradual. We passed by ponds, viewed atleast a dozen beaver lodges, crossed the creek many times, walked through forest, aspen groves, meadows, all under clear blue skies. We stayed at the hot springs for about 1 1/2hours (we were alone for 45 minutes!). The hike back seemed long, mostly due to fatigue; it took us just under 4 hours each way. I would recommend a 4wd to get to the trailhead as the uphill dirt road had many pits when we drove it this 3rd weekend in October. Wildlife sightings: a buck, a white weasel, a moose. Rumour has it that 'Rocky Mountain High' was partially written at the Springs. Glorious!!!day. See more..

It was a family fun event in a beautiful setting overlooking Lake Champlain. There were food vendors with a great variety including Ben and Jerry's Ice Cream. Kat Wright band performed both prior to and following the fireworks. The firework display was amazing! There was an abundance of fireworks with a great variety and it went on for about 45 minutes. The performance couldn't get any better unless it was set to music! See more..
