    Winter wonderland
My wife and I did a 6-8 PM time slot (reservations required) and loved it. Snow everywhere and a full moon made for an almost surreal setting. There are 2 main pools with the upper pool being hotter than the lower but both were a great temp depending on what you like. You can also go over a wall into the MUCH colder water for a quick cool off. Even though it was 18 degrees, we were perfectly comfortable. After sunset, it is clothing optional (fine print) but with the darkness and steam off the pools, you couldn't really tell if anyone was nude or not and no one made a big deal. Would highly recommend if you want something unique. Will go back during the day just to see what that is like and take in the scenery.

    Worthwhile, but Plan Ahead
We visited the Strawberry Park Hot Springs the week before Christmas. I booked our group online and was able to communicate with the staff ahead of time in order to appropriately accommodate our group. The staff are easy to communicate with via email and phone, so if you have issues booking online, don’t hesitate to reach out to them. Their communication via email was timely. Plan ahead if you are driving your own vehicle, or consider booking transportation. We drove private vehicles, and I am glad we were advised to drive carefully and leave with a nice cushion of time. The last 20 minutes or so of the drive is on a nearly single lane road, and it is advised to give drivers going up the right of way. Make sure to know the rules of the road when mountain driving. When in doubt, book transportation through Strawberry Park. There is not a lot of parking available onsite, so also take that into consideration. I think we got lucky when we arrived. I am not sure what we would have done if we weren’t able to find parking. You pay on site prior to entering the Park. You have to pay in cash, so again plan ahead. You can bring your own towel, or pay for a towel onsite. There are bathrooms and areas for changing as well. The Springs themselves are very warm and unique to the area. It’s a giant hot tub! A great activity to do with a group. There was also a cold pool too if cool plunging is a thing you enjoy. I would suggest bringing a pair of sandals for walking around the area because the terrain can be rough on bare feet. I didn’t see any lockers for valuables, so keep that in mind with any personal items you might want to keep an eye on. There are some nooks to stow things in, but nothing is secure. I would suggest visiting the Hot Springs when in Steamboat, it’s a unique experience to the area.
