I bike maybe 4 times a year and found it to be an absolute stunning ride from Aspen to Basalt. It was also very nice from Basalt to Carbondale. But Carbondale to Glenwood Springs is next to a noisy highway and not so great. If you're older or not looking for a big cardio workout I'd recommend biking the trail in the NW direction (Aspen to Glenwood Springs) because it's downhill for the most part and it's easy to drive to a park & ride, leave your car then whenever you want, have someone in your group grab one of the busses that run down Hwy 82 every 30 minutes back to the car. Busses have bike carriers & are free until July.See more..
Nice hike! After 13 hours in the car, we needed movement and found this hike. It was a fun one. We went around 5pm and saw some wildlife (black tail deer and elk). The lookouts are nice and the castle ruins are neat to see. Worth venturing to experience.See more..

5.0Valmont Bike Park(59 reviews) - Great for families, kids and Old dudes like me with no shocks. No attitudes! Biking Trails
My 16 yo son found this park online while planning a trip to Estes Park. We brought our bikes to ride in Estes, but came down one day to hit Valmont. Very nice place. Great place for beginners, with little or no berms. Then some smaller stuff for the inexperienced. It then graduated to medium, large, you get the picture. I have been mountain biking since 92, and this the most fun I've ever had, and my kids were in heaven. They started out small, and ended up big. Others who were much more advanced, with much more advanced bikes were nice and helpful. I didn't catch any attitudes from anybody anywhere, just everybody out to have a good time, and "everybody took turns!" Also had clean, usable bathrooms and water. In all, I was thrilled that my son found this place, as we'll be back for sure!See more..

4.5Keyston Bike Park(13 reviews) - Very fun Spent More than 3 hours Biking Trails
I concur with everything written--the trails are very well maintained. The green trails are doable for first time downhill bikers with caution. The ride down is a blast - it's long and winds through the forest. We had 2 bikers with some experience and 2 newbies and we all loved it. You definitely need to have an adequate suspension bike for a pleasurable ride. If you want merely a leisure ride, this is not for you - stay on the trails in town which are lovely. Arrive early in the day because the likelihood of a storm disrupting your afternoon is high. Loved it and highly recommend. See more..
Love this trail and frequent it often with friends and family on weekend bike rides. It is beautiful and usually uncrowded if you go early enough. See more..
4.5Colorow Trail(10 reviews) - great sunset walk Spent 2-3 hours Biking Trails • Hiking Trails
This is a fairly short hike and you can start at either end and make a loop back to the subdivision. Since we were enervated by the daytime heat we started our walk after dinner. You would want to make sure you are early enough to avoid total darkness (or bring a light), because there are stretches that are a bit rocky and narrow with switch backs and steep grades. If you are a sea level person, it may take you a bit longer to huff and puff up trail. But the views are worth it - you get a 360* panorama of the surrounding area. And you may be surprised, as I was, just how extensive the housing development is in this little valley. We were also surprised by the number of wildflowers on the trail...though I'm sure some consider them "weeds".See more..

The Island in the Sky Trail is the most beautiful with great geology and beautiful views of the valley from high cliffs. There are several interconnecting trails in the area, so be sure to get a map. 3.5Temple Trail(2 reviews) - Frisco Section of County Recpath Spent < 1 hour Biking Trails • Hiking Trails Temple Trail is the name given to the Frisco section of the Summit County Recpath - specifically the section from Miner's Creek Road to the Tenmile bend. It's got some nice aspen stands, great views of Peak One and some pretty ridiculous mansions that sit empty most of the year. The path is in excellent shape. Note: You do share the path with local vehicles from Miner's Creek to the about the Peak One Neighborhood.See more..
5.0Willow Creek Trail(1 review) - Awesome Spent More than 3 hours Biking Trails • Hiking Trails
Denver is a paradise for bikers. That's the reason I've brought my bike from Chicago. I was driving to my daughter, so transporting the bike in my car wasn't a problem. I just wanted to test my bike on Colorado's ground. The result was great. There are so many trails going through the parks, streets and other suburban areas. One day our whole family went for riding. We’ve started in Centennial, CO riding for few hours, making the loop. Big part of the trail was Colorado Centennial Link Trail. It was so colorful, well organized and clean. We were changing trails still moving forward. I strongly recommend this type of activity in area of Centennial, CO. RomanPSee more..
5.0Ridgway Area Trails(1 review) - Lovely intermediate mountain biking area Spent 1-2 hours Biking Trails

5.0Summit County Paved Recreational Pathway(1 review) - Cycling Around Lake Dillon Biking Trails Summit County offers miles and miles of cycling paths. A relatively easy and fun ride is to ride between Frisco and Dillon. The bicycle path keeps you safely off the roads, but you get magnificent scenery, and you can also stop to enjoy the city amenities. Ice Cream and Bakery stops are a favorite. The path from the Frisco Adventure Park to Dillon and back is fairly flat. Adventurous folks can continue around the lake beyond Dillon and climb the paved trail up Swan Mountain to Sapphire Point lookout. This spot is so gorgeous that you are more-than-likely to see a professional photographer guiding brides and groom out from the parking lot for a photo op. But keep in mind that only fit cyclists or those with an eBike should attempt the arduous climb up Swan Mountain. It's a couple miles of 3-5% climbing with some short stretches (maybe a hundred meters) reaching 8%. We rode the entire loop, and we're not advanced cyclists. We found both a baker AND an Ice Cream shop for our rewards of making the Swan Mountain climb.See more..
5.0Antelope Trail(1 review) - 3 mile loop Spent More than 3 hours Biking Trails • Hiking Trails 4 of us rented bikes at University Cycles and then drove from Boulder to Lyons at the suggestion of one of the Ben's at the bike shop. He showed us on a map where to go and what to expect. The initial part of the ride was hard, but that was partially because we were not used to the altitude and also, gulp, our ages. The 30 year old did not have a problem but the late 50 and early 60 year olds did. The scenery was spectacular with blue skies that only Colorado can produce. Over all the ride was a solid intermediate ride with climbs, floaty parts and switchbacks.See more..
4.0Fruita Bike Park(1 review) - Great place for kids and adults-- lots of dirt jumps and other items to try out Spent 1-2 hours Biking Trails This free bike park is a great place for kids and adults to practice their tricks, build stamina, and hang out (and burn off kid-energy). It has a lot of dirt jumps of different sizes and heights for varying abilities, some pump tracks, and even an air pump if your tires get low. It's close to the Colorado River so you can also see interesting wildlife. There is a covered pavilion with tables/benches and drinking fountain (and a spot for dogs too) as well as benches throughout the park for those who are watching rather than biking or if you just need a break. Although the website says that there's a playground-- it's not a playground in a traditional traditional sense-- it's some practice climbing rocks and a large net. It's not appropriate for small children. While there are some trees mostly around the edges of the park, most of it is out in the sun, so make sure to use sunscreen. Additionally, there are a lot of ants so be careful where you step and sit. There are portable toilets and plenty of parking.See more..
