I booked the zipline and rafting experience to celebrate my husband's 40th birthday. Our zipline guides were Brina and Tini and they made the trip so enjoyable. My husband is a little afraid of heights and they alleviated all fear and he had the best time! They were very thorough in explaining each of the different stations of the zipline experience and we felt very safe and secure the entire time. We then took an hour break in town and had a nice lunch before returning for the Upper Creek rafting experience. I had never been rafting and was nervous for the category of rapids we had chosen. Our guide Dagnar was beyond amazing! He was very reassuring, made sure we were prepared and even gave us an extra thrill while rafting. We could not have had a better experience!!!! Nice job Scenic River Tours! Thank you so much, my family of 4 (mom, dad, two teenage boys) had a blast and a really great memory to take back to NY with us. As beginners, we felt like we were in really good hands with Riley, our guide (thank you Riley!…and Colin, who delivered the initial safety talk, which was super clear and most useful when we did in fact need to do a high side!). We did the upper Taylor extender (3 hours). We were so glad to have done the extender option because we weren’t ready to get out after 2 hours. We felt like the stretch we saw was a good combination of thrills and gentler stretches with stunning views. We had a pretty epic adventure with Tom, our guide, on the Telluride Via Ferrata. I have done a few via ferratas in the past but was so happy to have his expertise and guidance as there were many more “sketchy”, uncabled sections than I’ve experienced in other places. He was skilled, confident and so patient with my 13 year old who was pretty terrified at first. Tom expertly distracted him, kept him present and walked him through each and every obstacle. By the end, he was embracing the challenge and actually having fun! This via ferrata is no joke, with some pretty dire consequences if you don’t know what you’re doing, so I would highly recommend a guide. Mountain Trip was very professional and flexible. We did a full day of rock climbing and repelling in Golden, CO with Ryan as our guide from Evergreen Wilderness. It was a fantastic experience we will never forget. We are a family of 3 with a high school daughter and two parents on the far side of the 40's. Ryan was very accommodating to our individual levels of experience and comfort. He was great at explaining the technical side of what he was doing with all the gear so that we knew what was important and that felt safe. The location was beautiful and had many different climbs and repels we could try. Ryan was very personable, patient and professional. He made it clear what we needed to bring. Trip was as advertised and just a ton of fun with Nick and Tanner. After a scenic drive (about 45 minutes) to the Upper Colorado River we enjoyed a scenic trip with some late season white water. We had ample opportunities to take photos, swim, and two stops to walk the shore. Nick and Tanner had lots of jokes and were knowledgeable about the history of the area, wildlife, and plants. Loved the convenience of being able to leave from Silverthorne, leaving all the driving up to locals. The company photographer took some great shots of us on the river and the photo package was reasonably priced. I highly recommend booking with this company and these guides to make your own memories!See more..

Just spent a weekend climbing ice in the San Juans in Colorado with Peak Mountain Guides and I can't say enough great things about Spence and the crew at Peak! From the planning call with Lance to discuss objectives and itinerary, to the ascent of a couple backcountry routes outside Silverton, everything was awesome. Spencer was attentive and provided valuable feedback on my climbing technique while making sure everything was efficient and safe. Could not recommend this outfit more!!! Our group of three called the day of to book a Via Ferrata hiking tour (I would definitely recommend booking earlier because these full up fast) and Josh (the owner) was more than accommodating to include us in a trip. This was a bucket list item and not for the faint of heart. Both Chris (our guide) and Josh (the owner) accompanied us and encouraged and reassured us doing an excellent job of teaching and pointing things out along the way. What an amazing opportunity and we felt that we were in the best hands as both had tons of experience! After 8,000 trips across this rock face, they lost count!!!! San Juan Outdoor Adventures provided all the necessary gear and Even took some amazing photos for us! Could not recommend them more! Great cabin just a short drive from Georgetown or Idaho Springs. Very modern interior. Large screen TV in the living space. Cabin sleeps 4 but I just enjoyed it by myself. Wind was fierce with flurries outside, but totally cozy inside. Highly recommend it.See more..
I went to the climber's coffee Naked Edge holds every sunday from 8 to Noon, and it was really cool! I met some other climbers and had cookies and coffee on my way to climb in Eldo. This is an awesome place and resource for climbers/visitors in Eldo. They have guidebooks, shoe and pad and helmet rentals, and FREE ELDO WATER. 5 stars will return to this little shop.See more..
