We loved this little town. It was so unique offering so many restaurants and stores. The stores are all so interesting and offer so many different things. The feel and vibe of this town was awesome. We found a bluesy jazz type band playing out in the back of a restaurant courtyard and just sat there and listened! So much better than a big city. We really enjoyed downtown Estes Park although we couldn't fully enjoy it because it started to rain (we went during spring) so the town was not crowded like I've heard it is other times of the year. It is definitely touristy. Many quaint and cool shops to explore. I love how the river runs right through town. Be sure to walk the river walk and take in the Stanley Hotel, both are so worth seeing. Don't forget to bring home some fresh salt water taffy. The place pretty much closes down after about 5 pm. There are great places to stay too all along the beautiful scenic roads. This is a family town and there is tons for the kids to do. Rocky Mountain National Park is right there, and that will take you at least a full day to see, so plan to stay overnight if you want to get it all in. See more..

    Historic Olde Town Arvada image
Olde Town Arvada was a very enjoyable place to stay near during our recent vacation. The restaurants and live entertainment were exceptional. There’s a laid back vibe that seamlessly melds with the delicious eclectic menus. Shopping is fun and prices are reasonable. We felt far more like a local than a tourist. Denver is a 30 minute train ride so if your looking to visit the city this is a great place to stay and then come back to at the end of the day. We ended up spending far more time in Arvada than in downtown Denver but with the station only a short walk from our hotel the city was easy to access. The city is working on making the two main streets in Olde Town walking streets which makes the area even more walker friendly. Most places close relatively early but on weekends some stay open later. By 10:00 am most places are open. The coffee shops and breakfast establishments (Bread Winners highly recommended) open earlier. See more..

    - Best campground ever!

My favorite campground ever! Stayed there last week, closed it down on October 12th as that was the last day of the season. Absolutely gorgeous spot. We were right on the stream, actually two streams. Trails from the campground, easy walk or ride to the gondola and town is a short walk away. Highly recommend. See more..
