    Estes Park Visitor Center image
I love parking here. It's free and we've always found a spot. Most of the time we walk under the road through an artsy walkway that goes straight to the river and main shops. But if you want, catch the trolley for a free ride back and forth to town. See more..
  2. 4.5 Alpine Visitor Center (586 reviews)
    - Visitor's Center High Up
    Visitor Centers
    Alpine Visitor Center image
This visitor’s center is at the peak altitude of Trail Ridge Road. Aside from the usual visitor’s center, there is an adjacent store with a large selection of items and a cafe serving hot food and snacks. From the visitor’s center, there are nice views into a valley. Given the high altitude, take it easy and dress appropriately. When we visited in September, the plumbing had been turned off in preparation for the winter and hence only the vault toilets were available. See more..

It goes without saying that the history here is incredible and seeing it did not disappoint but what I really want to highlight is the Mesa Verde staff, they were awesome! Monday: 10:30 AM - 4:30 PM Visitor Centers
    Beaver Meadows Visitor Center image
This center is close as of June 12th, 2021. There is an incredibly small modular building set up in the parking lot, which contains little. This is outside the entrance gate. Nothing to eat or drink. It's worth stopping by to talk to park rangers, who were very helpful, and to look at large scale maps. You actually receive msps when you get to the access gates and show them your reservation. The full service restrooms, with water flushing toilets, soap, etc. are available. The buildings were designed by Frank Lloyd Wright and resemble Taliesin West. Just getting to pee in a Frank Lloyd Wright building is worth something. See more..

    Golden Visitors Center image
I landed in Golden with one thing on my mind, and that was to run some trails, but had no idea where to go. I then found the visitor center. The staff were really helpful and friendly to me. Because of them I found a great trail called the 'Chimney Gulch Trail' which took me all the way up to the mountain lookout and Buffalo Bills grave. I can not recommend this trail enough, and if you ever have the time to do it, I urge you to take it. It's approximately 16km round trip from the center and I loved it so much I came back the next day and ran it twice more back to back. Thanks again staff at the visitors center.. See more..

    Silverton Visitors Center image
After driving through town we stopped at the museum parking lot but never went in, it wasn't on our to do list. Then we visited the mine which we were planning to do and after our tour the gal suggested we stop at the museum. Have to say that was the best surprise of our trip, the only downside is we went in before eating lunch and you can spend hours in this museum. It is floors of history of mining and other history. This had to be the number one not on our last that we did and so glad we did. I highly recommend the museum, specially with older kids. See more..

    Colorado Welcome Center image
We entered Colorado on a warm Thursday night about 7:00 pm. There were very few cars and trucks there at the time. The restrooms were reasonably clean and they are in a separate part of the building from the Welcome Center itself. The door to the Welcome center says it’s open until 5pm. There are maps available in the hallway by the bathroom. The beautifully landscaped grounds and faux Native American teepees make it a great place to have a picnic. There is relatively little semi parking spaces here as it is primarily designed for tourists. There is a decent walking path and a place for your dog to exercise. We stop here occasionally on our way into Colorado as it’s a nice place to recharge before the final push into the mountains. See more..
