Nice job Scenic River Tours! Thank you so much, my family of 4 (mom, dad, two teenage boys) had a blast and a really great memory to take back to NY with us. As beginners, we felt like we were in really good hands with Riley, our guide (thank you Riley!…and Colin, who delivered the initial safety talk, which was super clear and most useful when we did in fact need to do a high side!). We did the upper Taylor extender (3 hours). We were so glad to have done the extender option because we weren’t ready to get out after 2 hours. We felt like the stretch we saw was a good combination of thrills and gentler stretches with stunning views. Reserved a wade trip with Eric Grand with Willowfly Anglers in Almont, CO. Went to the Upper Taylor river area. Eric was extremely patient as we got started and within an hour or so I hooked and landed an 26” rainbow with a girth of 12”. I did a half-day wade trip with Cutthroat Anglers on July 22nd and I can't recommend this trip enough! Matt Campanella took me out to catch my first Cutthroat Trout and then to one of the most beautiful places I've ever fished for some Brook Trout. Matt not only set me up in the right places to catch fish, but also took the time to teach me the how's and whys of what we were doing. We took a trip with Rigs to the Telluride area on the San Miguel River. The office staff was very patient with all my questions and offered good descriptions of several Trips they thought would be best for our family. They were very professional and helpful Upon arrival. The setting at the river was beautiful. Keith and Spencer were excellent guides. They are very knowledgeable about fly fishing in the area and worked hard, Changing flies and moving us around to help us catch fish. We caught several fish so they did a good job directing us to the right area to snag some Fish. We’ve never fly fished before. Both guides did a great job teaching us how to fly dish and were patient with us while we learned our skills. I would definitely recommend RIGS and would use them Again if we fish in this area. My sister was visiting from Georgia and we decided to take a tour with Altitude on the beautiful Grand Mesa. We had a wonderful experience. The guides started out slow so we could get a handle on the machines. They eventually allowed us to explore in unobstructed areas and actually use the machine. The snow was amazing!!! We were camping in the area and my 13-year old son wanted to drop by to get fishing flies. The owner, Michelle was awesome. Realizing that my son was a novice, she conducted a private mini-lesson and outfitted him with the knowledge and equipment he needed to go fishing on the nearby Platte river. If you like to catch fish this is the spot. With their own private stretch of water on the Eagle river you will not have to elbow other anglers out of the way in order to find a place to fish. The property is very well maintained and the views are phenomenal. The owners, Joe and Joey, are very knowledgeable, passionate fisherman and will do whatever it takes to ensure you have a great experience. The onsite cabin makes it very convenient as well. You can be fishing within minutes of waking up in the morning. For all of these reasons I highly recommend you give Colorado Angling Company a shot. My wife and I stumbled on this place, while we were picking a few things up in town, on our last camping/fishing excursion. We had been thinking about giving fly fishing a shot as something we can both learn together. Fortunately, we ran into Bob. He was extremely knowledgeable, friendly, and accommodating. When he realized that they were complete novices, he asked if we would like to step out front for a fly fishing "workshop." We jumped at the chance! We learned proper casting form with a splash of more advanced techniques. He offered great prices on his rods, but when l told him that we had just picked one up from somewhere else, there were absolutely no high pressure sales. Instead, he totally hooked us up, taught us how to tie all of our knots, and when they were just too crazy, did them for us. We WILL be back. If you have the slightest interest in fly fishing... We were so pleased to find a guide on Trip advisor who did non-fly fishing, chartered fishing trips in the area. We do a chartered fishing trip in either salt or fresh water everywhere we travel to, but had never fished for trout. Rick was very knowledgeable, attentive and patient with us, as well as invested in our success. He provided everything we needed for the day so all we had to do was show up w/ fishing licenses. Before we left he even gutted and cleaned up our fish for us so we could take it back to our rental to cook. We had a Saturday afternoon free and, on a whim, called South Platte Fly Shop to ask about a last minute guided fly fishing trip on the South Platte River (outside of Colorado Springs). The guys there were fantastic. They took my number, made some calls, found us an amazing guide (Austin), and got us out next day for an afternoon on the river. Couldn't ask for more. The shop itself if beautiful. Great gear and vibes. As for our trip, we hit the river right on time and Austin really knew the spots. His ability to spot fish was uncanny. Caught a bunch of trout, including an 18" Rainbow. Definitely recommend these guys. We can't wait to come back.See more..
I have booked two trips (two full days and one half day trip with guide Chris Kish and have told many friends that it was the most enjoyable fishing trips of my 65 years of fishing. We caught both size and numbers of rainbow and browns on the Frying Pan River wading and floating on the Roaring Fork and Colorado. On the Frying Pan I caught three fish over 5 pounds with over 20 total fish landed. Although I consider myself an above average fisherman, Chris's tips refined several techniques needed for success. He is an excellent teacher. I plan a return trip as soon as possible. I highly recommend booking with Sopris and Chris.See more..
