    T-Lazy-7 Ranch image
Back in the early 1900s, Had and Lou Deane were a colorful pair who raised cattle, horses, and a family on their rustic mountain ranch just outside of Aspen. Their parents and grandparents were Aspen’s founding fathers and earliest settlers. Today T-Lazy-7 is as busy as ever with the fourth and fifth generations of the Deanes running the ranch. Guests enjoy this mountain paradise for weddings and events, while recreational enthusiasts take part in snowmobile tours, horseback riding and fly fishing. T-Lazy-7 Ranch’s past is as rich as its future is bright, and we’re looking forward to many more years of wonderful mountain memories ahead. See more..

    American Safari Ranch image
Had a great ride this morning with Blake. We did a 2-hr ride and it was a great time and beautiful scenery. The horses were wonderful and properly selected for our crew consisting of a 9, 15, and 17 year old. It wasn’t your typical nose to tail ride either as we were spread out which was nice! If you want to go for a ride in the Breckenridge/Fairplay area, I would highly recommend. See more..
  3. 4.5 James Ranch (268 reviews)
    - Casual lovely eatery with fantastic views
    Monday: Ranches
    James Ranch image
The setting is a newly constructed wood beam restaurant and store with indoor and outdoor seating with views of the mountains. It’s a nice drive out jog town ans one can continue a little and turn around by the Purgatory ski resort. Burgers are the main fare with all the expected sides. Interestingly, the non alcoholic coconut and other drinks were amazing. We would return in heartbeat. See more..

    - Like a Hallmark Christmas movie!
    Monday: 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM 4WD, ATV & Off-Road Tours • Ranches • Horseback Riding Tours
    4-Eagle Ranch image
The sleigh ride and dinner was an absolute hit! We’d read so many reviews for different places, but the locals recommended 4 Eagle and it was perfect. Like stepping into a Hallmark Christmas movie! The food was delicious. The atmosphere superb. You could tell the owners took pride in seeing their guests have a good time. There was a live musician that was talented and very entertaining during dinner. The fire pit outside with s’mores was also a great touch. I recommend an earlier dinner reservation time if you can snag it before the sun goes down, because the ranch scenery is stunning. Would definitely do this again. See more..

    Glacier Creek Stables image
This was a really fun experience! It was cool to see another side of the park and the views were great! Sienna was our guide/wrangler and she was really fun. We enjoyed her company and most of all she was so knowledgeable! In fact, all the employees we interacted with were helpful and friendly. We learned a lot about the park so it really was a nice tour. Not to mention, I researched some other stables, and the price can’t be beat! Make sure to try to plan your day so you can spend time in the park afterwards since your reservation with the stables counts as your park entry pass for the day! Would absolutely recommend Hi Country Stables and Sienna. See more..
  9. 5.0 Sombrero Ranch (108 reviews)
    - Fantastic Ride!
    Ranches
    Sombrero Ranch image
My husband and I visited in June of this year. We called in advance to get reservations and were taken on a ride with just the two of us by one of the wranglers. We rode up into the mountains along a beautiful trail for 2hrs. The horses we rode were beautiful and extremely well behaved. I have visited RMNP several times and have done three other horseback rides and I have to say that while the views are always beautiful in Colorado, this ride was the best we have been on. It was peaceful and our guide was A+. This is a smaller outfit off of the beaten path and I could tell the staff and Compass absolutely loved their jobs and the horses they worked with. It is about a 20min drive from Estes. Well worth it. I will definitely visit here again on my next trip to the park. See more..

  11. 5.0 Latigo Ranch (44 reviews)
    - Best Family Vacation
    Ranches
    Latigo Ranch image
We were impressed. The Latigo team is well trained, helpful, fun, and knowledgeable. Extremely hospitable. The place is well kept and well run. We were there for a week. The food is incredible. You will not be hungry, and it is very high quality. It was much better than I have had at other places. We went to ride horses and we were not disappointed. The wranglers helped you to improve your skills no matter what level of rider you were. We had riders that were just starting out to riders that owned horses. We went to the all adult week and by the end of the week, everyone was a friend. I cannot say enough great things about the Ranch and the team there. There was not one member of the team we encountered that did not provide outstanding service. Thanks to all of you! The cabins were comfortable and clean. They actually cleaned your cabin daily and did your wash for you upon request. That was a nice touch. I would highly recommend this if you enjoy the country, want to make new friends and want to improve your riding skills. Thanks to the entire Latigo Ranch team. It ranks as one of our top vacation experiences. See more..
  12. 4.5 High Canyon Adventures (37 reviews)
    - ATVing at Baird Ranch Sunset Trip
    Ranches
    High Canyon Adventures image
Wow. This was an amazing adventure. Although normally the ATVing is in groups, we were the only ones signed up, so one of the ranch owners took us out on the tour. The ATV was in good shape and easy to use (I'm pretty little and not super strong). The trails were just unbelievable, we rode up the mountains and the views were just stunning. We saw mule deer and got to see a working ranch. We felt very much a part of the family while we were there. A huge thunder storm moved in (not uncommon in July) and we made it to the dining area just in time. The steaks were phenomenal, perfectly seasoned and cooked. And sitting under the pavilion and watching the storm from up on the mountain was pretty cool. All in an all, I'd highly recommend this activity, it was fun, exciting, and delicious. See more..

What a wonderful place to settle! The ranch has been well maintained, they were actually doing exterior washing when we were there, and the scenery is just so beautiful. It only took us a few minutes to stop and get some great shots and learn a little about the history of the ranch. I would definitely put this on my places to see if I were in the area. Such a beautiful area, and a quick and easy stop. See more..
  15. 5.0 Yellow Pine Guest Ranch (17 reviews)

Spent 2-3 hours Ranches • Horseback Riding Tours
    Yellow Pine Guest Ranch image
The Yellow Pine Guest Ranch near Cuchara CO is a wonderful place to spend a few, or even several, days. We have stayed at Yellow Pine in the past and our daughter and family stayed there just last week while we stayed at another nearby location. Yellow Pine provides horseback trail rides for both guests and non-guests. There is a lake for fishing, areas for hikes, a playground and I believe a chuckwagon meal from time to time. Yellow Pine is next door to the quaint village of Cuchara, and within driving distance of many area fishing lakes, Great Sand Dunes National Monument , and many other historical and recreational attractions. Prices are reasonable, cabins are clean and the staff most helpful See more..

This is one of the best sleigh ride dinners ANYWHERE. The ride is on a beautiful sheep farm with pretty scenery (one time we saw elk standing in their field). The food is incredible and plentiful. Yes it's expensive, but it is a trip-maker. I've gone there 3 different times and it was our favorite meal and experience in Telluride, bar none. See more..

  24. 5.0 Pleasant Journey Alpacas (2 reviews)
    - Highlight of our Colorado road trip
    Ranches
    Pleasant Journey Alpacas image
We took our 3 teens on a road trip around Colorado for Spring Break and hands down this was the one highlight that everyone unanimously loved. Who doesn't love fuzzy, cute, colorful, curious alpacas? We actually did not know much about alpacas, and the owner of the ranch was exceedingly gracious, answering all of our questions, showing us around all the pens, sharing stories, and best of all letting us mingle with the babies! The alpacas all have their own personalities and funny names. This is a must-do if you are in the area (we were also visiting Mesa Verde), perfect outdoor activity for those cautious during times of covid. The ranch looks impeccably maintained and the animals look very well taken care of and content. What a gorgeous mountainous backdrop too! Thank you so much for your kindness and patience with all of our questions! See more..

  26. 5.0 Lazy F Bar Ranch (2 reviews)
    - A Unique Crested Butte Experience!
    Ranches
We began the evening with a shuttle bus trip from downtown Crested Butte to the staging area for the horse drawn sleighs. There were two sleighs with two horses pulling each one. Blankets helped keep us cozy as we went through the night to the little cabin for dinner. The service at the restaurant was excellent, but the dinner merits probably three stars. It was tasty, but the highlight of the evening was the sleigh ride. The food was tasty, but not spectacular. It was a great evening and I'd love to go again the next time I'm in Crested Butte. 28. 1.0 Van Eden Ranch & Retreat (1 review)
    - Awful
    Ranches
I went to the Van Eden Ranch for a senic horseback trail ride, but ended up spending 5 hours in the emergency room of a Denver hospital. The place was dirty with litter all over, I felt like I had stepped into the movie Deliverance. The horses were thin, their feet were not properly trimmed, and the horse I was giving to ride was very lame and sore. My horse kept rearing up and the trail person kept telling me he was excited and would settle down once we got into the ride. As we started to climb up the trail my sore lame horse stopped and refused to go forward, then he reared up and flipped over backwards with me. Thank goodness I do ride and I knew I did not want to be trapped under the horse so I took my feet out of the stirrups and jumped off. I spent the next week recovering from mutiple bruises, pulled muscles and stitches. Do NOT go on a trail ride at the Van Eden ranch. The horses are not properly cared for and I feel they are very not fit for a beginner rider to be put on. See more..
