We thoroughly enjoyed the ATV tour around the 3100 acre Lucky 8 Bison Ranch. Our guide, Emily, led us up, down and around this beautiful elevated area. The ranch now has about 400 head of bison. We got close (and stayed in our vehicles) and learned about their habits, history in the US and watched them in their environment. Emily also took us to vista lookout points. Each couple/family drove their own 2 or 4 seater Polaris vehicle. Driving at a moderate speed took some concentration. The tour was all of 3 hours. But other than hiking in the forests, I can think of no better way (outside of winter) to get a feel for the landscape and ranch environment of the Steamboat Springs area.See more..
My husband, 13 year old son, and I went on a 3 hour tour with Shelly last week. It was AMAZING! Our guide was so knowledgeable about the area and the ruins. The horses were beautiful and very gentle. Biscuit, the dog, followed us the whole way. The views were breathtaking, and the experience was like no other! My daughter, sister, and I had the pleasure of doing a wolf walk this past weekend. It was really a unique and informative experience for us. Not only were we able to walk a wolf on a leash, but we got a very nice education on these wolves such as their day to day activities, their habitat, and their background stories. It’s clear the people that work at Colorado Wolf Adventures love and care for the animals very much. Both Ghost and Spirit were beautiful physically and spiritually. The price included a ton of pictures being taken and them being put on a jump drive to take home. We will definitely do this walk again when in town the next time. Absolutely stunning adventure with a first rate outfit! We had Curtis as our guide as we headed up the Mountains in Telluride on an old mining road in an open air Pinzgauer. Curtis not only knew his stuff he was safe and awesome on a road which can get a little rough to say the least - imagine this road used by miners 140 years ago and it’s just amazing! My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed this excursion. The owners Caleb & Deanna were very kind and obviously love what they do. They introduced us to each of the dogs and then gave us an interesting history of dog sledding and the Alaskan Husky. We got to harness one of the dogs and watch the excitement of the dogs as they were hooked up to pull the sled. These dogs love to pull! It was a thrilling ride through gorgeous scenery. This was the fourth trip I have taken with Don, and we originally scheduled to go to the Galapagos in 2020, then 2021, both postponed because of COVID and finally it happened this year. This was the most overwhelmingly beautiful trip I have ever taken and Don‘s arrangements for all the details were impeccable. What’s really fun about being with Don is that he gets as excited as we do about all the wildlife and beautiful scenery. He has a wonderful way of being a mentor as well as a companion to all of us. His relationship with our wildlife guide as well as the boat crew on this Galapagos tour was affectionate and respectful, and the opportunities for great photographs were abundant and spectacular. He took the time to make sure everybody had the correct settings, and some folks who had new camera systems were incredibly grateful for his patient help. I’m so impressed with him as a leader, that I’ve already booked his February 2023 Costa Rica trip. He’s awesome!See more..

This was such a memorable experience for us, I would highly recommend it to all in the area. Ranger-led expeditions are always so enjoyable and full of information. You start down the Pine Creek Trail, all 232 steps of it, down to the canyon floor and then it's a short walk along the Gunnison River to the Pine Creek Boat Dock. The boat departs at 10AM and they advise you to get there a bit early considering the hike. The fee was $24 per person and reservations are required in advance. The rangers do a quick introduction and safety presentation and then you load up onto the small pontoon boat for a 1 1/2 hour guided boat tour along the reservoir and into the Black Canyon of the Gunnison National Park. The rangers tell you all about the geology and history of the region and point out several points of interest including the Curecanti Needle and Chipeta Falls. Be sure to wear sunscreen and bring plenty of water. The hike down is fairly easy however the hike back up Pine Creek Trail can be a bit strenuous in the afternoon heat. I can't recommend this adventure enough, I love to look back on my photos from our trip.See more..

Fun and relaxing. Paige was great with our first time riders (11 and 16). The boys learned to saddle the horses, work the reigns, and then ride through the beautiful meadows with mountain backdrops. We went on a two hour ride with our three teenagers aged 14-19. The horses were great and appeared to be very well cared for. Our guide, Grace, was extremely personable and knowledgeable. My son and I just wrapped up our second year with Bugle ‘Em Up Outfitters and have had an amazing experience. Preston & Brad have quality camps set up and good pack horses to get up the mountain. You’ll be hiking a lot while you’re hunting, but it’s worth it up on the mountain. This past year I pulled the trigger on an elk early morning in the bottom of the Carbonite Basin at 11,000 ft. Brad had horses to us that afternoon to pack out the elk, brought extra horses to us to save us the hike, and took the meat to a local processor while we hunted the rest of the trip. They even picked up the meat for us later that week and brought it to the horse barn! Highly recommend Preston & Brad, both as outfitters and outstanding people. Have already booked next year’s hunt and look forward to another great experience.See more..

We took this tour on a whim after planning a visit to the area and learning that sometimes the dunes can treat visitors to unexpected sandstorms. Initially we had envisioned climbing the dunes or sand boarding, however we stumbled upon Mountain Master Off-Road Tours and decide to book the Dunes and Falls Tour. Our tour guide was Kyle, the owner and everyone agreed this was a favorite from our vacation. Kyle went out of his way to make sure everyone in our party was enjoying the tour, and he shared so much history of the area with us.
