I had my first ever zip lining experience here and it was a blast. Our tour guides, Jake and Caroline, were absolutely terrific. They were super encouraging, had great personalities, and provided such an incredible overall experience. There were some pretty sweet views of Castle Rock’s beauty, as well! If you get the opportunity to do this tour, I highly recommend it! See more..

Our 4-year old did NOT want to leave. It was not crowded on the Tuesday that we went. We were able to do all that we wanted. Our only complaint was the corporate music list was not kid friendly and forced us to cut our visit short. See more..
  6. 4.5 LaVern M Johnson Park (36 reviews)
    - Awesome little park.
Spent 2-3 hours Parks • Hiking Trails • Playgrounds
    LaVern M Johnson Park image
Our daughter took us here when we came to visit her in Colorado. What a gem! This park is set up for camping, both motorhome and tent. It also has pavilions which can be reserved for parties. There are athletic fields and a stream that runs along the perimeter that is often used for tubing. It was a very relaxing experience and allowed us to get a little acclimated to the altitude at the beginning of our trip, since we are from NY and only at 600 ft. The daughter's dog was able to swim in the stream and the wife and daughter went wading to cool off from the 90 degree temperature on the day of our visit. See more..

    Ford Park image
Ford Park may not be well known in general, but in the Vail-Avon-Beaver Creek area, it is a much-appreciated amenity for Locals & Visitors, especially during the Summer. It is a Public Park with Free Parking. The Park includes the Gerald R. Ford Amphitheater, Betty Ford Alpine Gardens, Athletic Fields, Playgrounds, Picnic Areas, & more. Well-kept Football, Softball, Rugby, Soccer & LaCrosse Athletic Fields run alongside Hwy. 70. There are 3 elaborate Playgrounds ~ all custom designed & built ~ for different ages. Loved the Suspension Bridge! Ample semi-private areas for Picnics, beside or near the clear beautiful Creeks. See more..

    Foster's Place Playground image
Our kids absolutely loved the playground. We didn't have near enough time for them to fully enjoy it, but we got some great pictures of them having fun. If you have kids, make sure you plan enough time to let them play here. It is an amazing park! The structures were planned around the trees which make for a really amazing time for the imagination! 10. 4.5 Westminster Center park (17 reviews)
    - Pretty and peaful
Spent 1-2 hours Gardens • Playgrounds
    Westminster Center park image
The Westminster Center Park was just a few minutes walk from my hotel so I stopped by in my morning stroll and took some pictures. The Park had a large parking lot, City Hall, Policy Department, the Bell Tower (which could be seen from a distance) and five tall flag poles. The area was clean and well maintained. Since it was early in the morning, it was pretty quiet and nice to walk by. Even though it was called "center", it was not the commercial center of the city. There was also a "Westminster City Park" which is a couple of miles north of the City Hall. Near there was the Butterfly Pavilion and the Westminster Promenade (a shopping area). We only drive by the Promenade but did not have time to visit.. See more..

  12. 5.0 Santa Rita Park (17 reviews)
    - Nice, Safe Playground!
Spent 1-2 hours Parks • Playgrounds
    Santa Rita Park image
Great playground! Some of the equipment is special needs friendly and has ramps. The bigger slides are a bit challenging to access for special needs children. There is a swing for the special needs population. It is not built for a wheel chair. Overall the park is wonderful. It is along the Animas river path. So you and your family have access from the playground to walk, hike, bike or stroll on the concrete path. It is one of the sights that rafting companies exit the Animas River. That is fun to watch. There are some improvements taking place near the park. I hope it is adding a restroom (there is not one now). These improvements do not impede access to the playground. Overall well worth the visit if you have young children that need an extra activity. The city has spent a ton on safety for the children. It is an awesome park. See more..

  15. 4.5 Anderson Park (10 reviews)
    - Great multi-use forest-to-urban park and trail
    Spent 2-3 hours Playgrounds
    Anderson Park image
This free urban-to-forest city park is actually part of 20+ mile-long walking and bike path. Its clever and user-friendly design allows for many uses, with baseball fields, playgrounds, shelters and picnic areas, plus 4 separate attractive lakes that attract fishing, bird watching (e.g. 200 geese landing at dusk, or rare herons nesting). multiple paths allow for local horse riding, carriages, skate boards, e-bikes. Signs note the occasional visits by bears, mountain lions, and coyotes, but not actually a threat to daytime uses. The city-managed park also hosts festivals, music events and annual art shows. Entrances spaced along a 4-mile stretch of Clear Creek and connects to Golden, Arvada and Denver park space. See more..

    Sandstone Ranch Park image
We had heard there were raptors here so we hiked the trail (mostly paved) and when we saw several other hikers with binoculars, we learned we needed some also. We saw eagles but unfortunately no horned owls. One other hiker had seen otters, beavers, and a mink. It still remains a favorite place for easy hiking. See more..
