This is an incredible place! Uncrowded... Maybe because poor fishing right now due to warm water. Who cares! Toss your line in, kick back, watch the Beaver, ducks, birds, mountains... Praise Him who provided this glorious place!

Just so pretty while frozen!
We took a back road up to the Denver area just to take in the scenery. Stretched our legs. It is just so beautiful with the lake frozen, very few people around and so peaceful. Just relax in nature for a few minutes before continuing on our journey was so awesome on a Sunday.

Pretty lake
Pretty lake with view of Pikes Peak. Nice picnic tables and grills. Walking trail around the lake. There was a snake when we were there, so always be aware of your surroundings! $7 entry fee, or 1/2 off with National Park Pass. We were camping at Painted Rocks campground across the road, and was able to get in free with our camping pass! Didn't have any luck fishing here.
