Quiet water and peaceful surroundings
Stopped at this lovely reservoir/lake for a lunch break, on the way down to Hoosier Pass. We enjoyed the quiet water, the peaceful surroundings (we visited on a weekday) and all the blue water. There is parking and a walking/biking path.

Beautiful Mountain Lake
I was looking to take a weekend trip to Colorado as I have never been there before so I picked a random location, and Dilon Reservoir was it. I lucked out, as this was a beautiful mountain lake with a plethora of activities to do around it ranging from hiking, fishing, kayaking, etc and plenty of shopping, food options, and breweries to keep one entertained for several days. The towns of Dillon, Silverthorne, and Frisco are nestled along the mountains and the lake shore and are each unique in their own way. If you are looking for a lakeside retreat, Dillon Reservoir is about as good of an option as you will find.
