- 5.0 Summit County Paved Recreational Pathway (1 review)
-Cycling Around Lake Dillon
Biking Trails
Summit County offers miles and miles of cycling paths. A relatively easy and fun ride is to ride between Frisco and Dillon. The bicycle path keeps you safely off the roads, but you get magnificent scenery, and you can also stop to enjoy the city amenities. Ice Cream and Bakery stops are a favorite. The path from the Frisco Adventure Park to Dillon and back is fairly flat. Adventurous folks can continue around the lake beyond Dillon and climb the paved trail up Swan Mountain to Sapphire Point lookout. This spot is so gorgeous that you are more-than-likely to see a professional photographer guiding brides and groom out from the parking lot for a photo op. But keep in mind that only fit cyclists or those with an eBike should attempt the arduous climb up Swan Mountain. It's a couple miles of 3-5% climbing with some short stretches (maybe a hundred meters) reaching 8%. We rode the entire loop, and we're not advanced cyclists. We found both a baker AND an Ice Cream shop for our rewards of making the Swan Mountain climb. See more..

- 4.5 Herman Gulch Trail (15 reviews)
-Beautiful hike with meadows full of wildflowers
Spent More than 3 hours Hiking Trails
I went on this hike in mid-morning with my wife and 2 daughters (10 & 8). This ended up being one of our favorite hikes we did on our trip to Colorado due to the beautiful scenery all of the way up to the lake. The was a little complaining from the kids due to the length of the hike, but they made it to the lake and were quite happy. As others have said, the trip is over 4 miles one way. It is uphill the entire way up and the incline definitely increases for the last half mile. I would say just pace yourself which is easy to do. There are several meadows with wildflowers and a stream which beg for you to take a moment and relax, drink some water, eat a snack and embrace the fact that you are in such an amazing natural setting. Plenty of parking was available. Take a hat and sunscreen as there is a lot of time spent in the sun. See more..

- 4.5 Lake Dillon Disc Golf Course (3 reviews)
-best challenge in Summit County
Sports Complexes
Disc golf at 9000 feet? Amidst the sage brush, behind the Dillon cemetery, is this semi-spectacular disc golf lay out. It can be difficult to locate some of the tee boxes and occasionally the holes but the scene is breathtaking on a sunny day. Make sure you spot your disc landing spot as the sage brush can hide any throw. Also be very careful coming down # 8 it's very steep. And the whole scene is FREE!!! See more..
- 4.0 Adventure Times Rentals (44 reviews)
-Best Excursion Ever!!
Spent More than 3 hours Gear Rentals
Highly recommend!! We rented a 4 person side by side for a full day and had a blast! (2 adults/2 kids) Equipment was good and we didn’t have any issues. I would recommend doing the full day since I feel like the half day would limit you on how much exploring you could do. Definitely go up to the Continental Divide, most incredible views we have ever seen!! See more..

- 4.0 Silver Dollar Lake Trail (3 reviews)
-The payoff is worth it
Spent More than 3 hours Hiking Trails
This was my first ever hike in the Rocky Mountains and it was a very beautiful one to start with. A short gravel road off, best navigated by 4-wheel drive, off Guenella Pass Road (itself a higly recommended scenic byway) leads to the trailhead. The trail is pretty easy to follow, first through conifer woods until you will hit the treeline. Naylor Lake will be visible at this point, providing a first picturesque photo op. It's another mile or so to the namesake Silver Dollar Lake, a beautiful alpine lake against the backdrop of Square Top Mountain. We saw and heard many pikas along the trail. There's a third lake a little further up the mountains, we didn't get that far. Is this a difficult hike? Yes and no. It's well signed, not far off a main highway and relatively short. But like most out-and-back hikes in the Rockies, it's up first, down second, providing some burning thighs. But the payoff is worth it. See more..
- 3.5 Skyline Cinema 8 (30 reviews)
