2.5Thunder Ridge Ski Resort(67 reviews) - Customer Service Hung Up the Phone on Me Twice Ski & Snowboard Areas
My friends and I went on 12/26/20 from Queens, NY, only to find out the resort was closed because of the storm. My friends called them for the refund for the lift tickets and rental we reserved. My friend said their customer service was not friendly and told them the refund was automatic. One month later today (1/26/21), we still have not got our refund back. I called today and the lady at the customer service told me to email the issue and hung up on me twice. I wonder how they trained their staff because I believe hanging up the phone on someone is rude. I did not catch the email address she gave me since she hung up on me so I called around 10 more times, but no one picked up (I hope she did not purposely do that). The third time, another lady picked up with a more friendly tone and did not hang up on me. What should I think about this? Great resort for young beginners but the staff who answers the phone needs more training?See more..
2.5All Star Village(49 reviews) - Not in Cooperstown Sports Camps & Clinics
First off, i had no idea it isn't anywhere near Cooperstown, so when i rented a house near Cooperstown, it was 45 minutes away ! Totally wasted almost $3000 to rent a place so far away and driving back and forth, ruined some of the experience for my family. As for the actual experience, kids loved it, but it is so expensive. Expect to have to walk 5-10 miles daily, up and down very steep and long hills, use a backpack cooler. Opening cereamony, is stupid. Kids stand in line for hours while families/group sit all around trying to show spirit, and than they waste time having moms and dads, and military and what ever category they think of, walk down on the field, clap, than walk back to where they were and then next group. IT goes on for hours, before they finally bring kids down and introduce teams, the week we went there were 69 teams.See more..
2.5Cooperstown Fun Park(41 reviews) - The picture speaks for itself Amusement & Theme Parks
This is a continuation of the visit to Cooperstown with my 10 year old grandson. Needless to say we stopped at the not so fun park. For 25 dollars you get 5 choices of what you want to blow your tickets on. Basically it's 5 bucks per ride. Go for either the go carts or batting cages. Stay away from the bumper boats, I have had more excitement watching grass grow. Our visit was a Saturday in July at about 5 pm. The picture I included of the parking lot shows 5 cars........they are the employees cars. Notice there are NO other cars. Sail right by this place!See more..
Rented a boat. The rentals were significantly cheaper here. My boat was a little beat up, nothing special rowboat, but I did not feel cheated on the price of the rental. The staff is small, but they were VERY polite, helpful and informative. Good people, good price, don't expect fancy.See more..

2.5Cooper's Cave(19 reviews) - Trickle of water at dam Spent 1-2 hours Caverns & Caves
The Coopers Cave is not a real cave, but a spot at the bottom of a dam for the hydroelectric plant. There is a small waterfall out of the dam running down to the river. A five minute stop.See more..
2.0Aviation Mall(14 reviews) - Satisfactory Shopping Malls This mall is only satisfactory if you are going to a specific store such as Penney, Target, etc. Planet Fitness seemed like the only busy place. There is a large parking lot but it is almost empty. The overall feeling here is somewhat depressing because the mall is losing tenants and therefore customers. There is a good 99 restaurant here.See more..
2.0Round 1(13 reviews) - Left with game cards that didn't work Bowling Alleys • Game & Entertainment Centers
Left with game cards that didn't work, had $22 dollars that could not access. Asked to have it transferred onto the other game card we had. We were told no the only way we could use the $22 was to pay $6 more for a different card. Total rip off will not go back. Could not even redeme the prize points on the card that did work because they would not open the prize center.See more..
I think the security was good and good location but the entrance was tremendous, took forever to get in, only one booth for alcohol which was ridiculous for the amount of people they had and no luck getting a Lyft or Uber leaving. Wouldn't go back to this venue.See more..
2.0Lake Welch Beach(10 reviews) - Loud Music and fully packed Spent More than 3 hours Beaches
I was there for the first time with my family on Saturday 07/10/21 my idea was to have a nice get away from NYC. OMG that place was fully packed and very loud music every 6 feet! The water was ok but the smell of charcoal was unbearable. Maybe it's best to visit this place during weekdays, the management needs to more to control the loud music and maybe limit barbecuing so close to the water to some degree.See more..
2.0City Winery(9 reviews) - Far less than expected Wine Tours & Tastings
I can only say one good thing about my experience at City Winery. The venue is absolutely amazing. Beyond that, find a real winery in the Hudson Valley, Finger Lakes, or Long Island and go enjoy a real experience. This is a cookie cutter chain and the wine is mediocre as well as overpriced. We have experienced excellent wines all over the US in California, Oregon, Virginia, New York, Texas, Utah, New Mexico, and Maine. I'm sure we have a few more places yet to go, but from our perspective, the wines we sampled and bought with our meal were unremarkable. The service for our table of four was terrible from the very moment we were seated. We waited for water for over fifteen minutes despite several repeated requests. The same was true for our wine orders which not only were late in delivery but also completely wrong. Getting it all corrected took even longer. The food we ordered came to the table reasonably soon after the order was placed but again, it was just okay. Nothing to be overly excited about. There is so much that could be so much better here and it was a disappointing evening out with good friends. We doubt that we will return. There are too many great places to drink wine and dine in this wonderful part of NYS to consider coming back.See more..

really, they aren't doing a great job maintaining this little treasure, like there's a lack of the personal pride that used to be its hallmark... rubber tee cups are useable only about half the time and on one of the hottest days of the year, the water bucket was gone... now that's a water hazardSee more..
2.5Ole Hickory Tavern(3 reviews) - HIDDEN TREASURES Tuesday: 11:00 AM - 2:00 AM Bars & Clubs Warm welcoming atmosphere. Food surprisingly delicious. Prices don't break the bank. 2.5Sugar Loaf(3 reviews) - Several shops many too New Age for us Spent < 1 hour Speciality & Gift Shops
This is a very old and quaint village featuring many artisan shops. The side walks are in poor condition and we saw no public restrooms. Of the shops some do feature artists in residence working in various mediums but most are "New Age" meditation and other related stuff I guess left overs of the Woodstock era. We did enjoy a paper goods store with a wide variety of merchandise and the local restaurant. Parking is available at many locations.See more..
2.5BBG's Beer Bites Games(3 reviews) - Fun Place! Good Selection of Beers, Snack Foods Are Good! Bars & Clubs My wife and I visited for drinks and a couple snack items. I tried three beers and settled on a Blueberry beer that was quite good. I had the meatballs which are some of the very best I have had. My wife had a Pinot Grigio and Chicken Tenders. The food was good - served hot, we ate at the bar. The bar is modern and nice. We had met the owners and they were both very friendly ladies.See more..

2.0Solar Strand(3 reviews) - Artistic and Scientific, the solar array teaches and awes at the same time Spent 1-2 hours Points of Interest & Landmarks
The Solar Strand at the University of Buffalo is not for everyone, but if you like to see and share grand efforts at renewable energy, this might just fit the bill. A huge collection of solar panels that is 140' across and a quarter mile long. The public is invited to walk along the many footpaths that wind throughout the strand. Special events take place and I have seen folks with drones trying to capture the true magnitude of the structure from above. I understand it was funded by the New York Power Authority. It sits at the edge of the University of Buffalo's North Campus and can be seen from from I-290 too. A cool thing to do if you're looking for something different. The Solar Strand measures 140 feet across and is approximately a quarter-mile long. It was funded by the New York Power Authority,See more..
I paid $86 for two people to go in Buffalo, NY. First you walk into a dark room, black walls, and you move up and down 3 aisles with images of Van Gogh Art on glass. There are words in the forefront giving an oversimplified narrative of his work and life. Once in a while you will read a quote. Then theres dark waiting area with swirling lights kind of like the Halloween displays you see on the side of a house. Then you enter a huge room with low resolution images in a collage fashion just changing over and over like a huge powerpoint. And you just sit and look at that I guess. The paintings most people have seen before. Possibly you are supposed to marvel at how they got it to be on the floor and walls? The end. The end of my $86. Learned a couple minute things. Left astonished. Did not educate nor honor the man and his work. Maybe if I had paid half that I would be more satisfied.See more..

2.5Oak Summit Vineyard(3 reviews) - One of a kind wine tasting experience! Wineries & Vineyards
I happened upon Oak Summit by accident, via a Google search of wineries in the area. Settled upon it because I called, spoke to John Bruno who sounded fun, and thought why not?! My boyfriend and i were skeptical driving up the winding dirt road to the winery, but when we reached the top, it was breathtaking! The view was amazing, the tour with John was delightful and the tasting, with John and his wife Nancy, was one of a kind. Phenomenal experience! Cannot wait to return.See more..

2.5Chazy Yacht Club(2 reviews) - Great value for boat rental Gear Rentals I rented a canoe with a small electric motor at the Chazy Yacht Club over 4th of July weekend. Don't be impressed by its fancy name, it looks nothing like a Yacht Club. However, it is located near the mouth of the Chazy River leading into Lake Champlain. For $40 for half a day, we were able to take the canoe and fish at our leisure without having to worry about paddling. The gentleman working was helpful in getting the canoe in and out of the water. They rent kayaks as well and provide a great activity for a low price. See more..

2.0Castleton Bridge(2 reviews) - Quiet Bridge Across the Hudson River Tuesday: 12:00 AM - 11:59 PM Spent < 1 hour Points of Interest & Landmarks • Bridges Headed east to New England, we crossed this historic (1959) toll bridge over the 315-mile (506.9 km) long Hudson River. Mid-morning summer traffic was light. The grayish green, four-lane, three-span, one-deck bridge took us 135 feet (41.1 m) above the river. The 5,369-foot (1,636.5 m) long, cantilever through-truss structure on NY 912M carried a fairly rural segment of highway linking I-87 and I-90. It’s viewable from below from the 1,052-acre (425.7 ha) Schodack Island State Park. We appreciated the views up and down the river. If the bridge hadn’t had a toll – and if it had had a vista-point rest stop or a state welcome center on either riverbank – we’d have liked it much more.See more..

2.5Hockey Outlet Ice Complex(2 reviews) - Coldest Hockey Rink in NY Sports Complexes We've been to a lot of hockey rinks since our nephew's play hockey traveling from Ohio. But man was this place cold. I had to get a coat since the jacket wasn't warm enough. The staff was great and easy to talk to. The store pretty well stocked, but like most places overpriced. The The building is old and most of the parking lot is gravel. Everyone was complaining about the ice. One section of the boards would send the puck airborne.See more..
2.5Lewiston Opera House(2 reviews) - Local author reading, Catherine Gildiner Operas Lewiston is a fantastic town! We met a local woman, Evelyn, at the Stone House bar. She was so excited because she had just made travel plans to Paris and Rome. We were with friends on our way to a wedding on Michigan. Evelyn told us about this reading at the Opera House. She was going to meet her husband there, he was in a band that was going to play a set of songs before the reading. The Opera House was a lot of fun. They served snacks for a donation -- pizza, cookies, wine, cider, brownies. I didn't t catch the name of the band, but I did dance to one of the songs. We bought Catherine's book, and she autographed it. She spoke for about 20 minutes. This is her third book, and she led an interesting life in Lewiston as a child, and then her adult adventures...including signing up with the Black Panthers, well, you'll have to buy her books!,See more..
2.0Jim's Saloon(1 review) - Wing deal. Bars & Clubs This is a typical dark and gloomy bar. Went there for the great wings. I didn't find that to be the case. They were very small compared to a few other places around. The flavor and price were fine, but I wouldn't recommend a special trip.See more..
2.0Limericks Pub(1 review) - Good Food, No Air Conditioning, Run Down Look Tuesday: 12:00 PM - 4:00 AM Bars & Clubs
During our visit to Buffalo NY our family went to Limericks Pub for Fish Frys. The food was good. The place looked worn down inside and outside. It was a very warm day when we went there and this place has NO AIR CONDITIONING! They have a small air conditioner in one of the windows set at 69 degrees but it's blowing hot air. Though the food was good the atmosphere was hot and sweaty. My wife and I did not enjoy this place due to it being so hot.See more..

Giving this venue a Poor mark due to the incredible difficulty in finding it. Surrounded by none other than 4 Nanuet Shopping Malls- I road around in circles for almost an hour. Each person I asked for directions, never even heard of this place. Finally one man said “ I think it’s behind Panera”. Bingo!!! When I got to the back of the place, a service guy mentioned that everyone gets lost trying to find it- even my catering staff is lost tonight. Each time I entered the address on the GPS, it kept changing from Plaza to Center and visa versa. Once inside, the open space was adequate for a small club event. Food was fair. Service Staff was very good. Needs better outdoor lighting. See more..

2.0Blue Arrow Farms(1 review) - Fun eclectic farm with petting zoo, old cars , beer ,wine and food trucks Zoos Car show nights draw a a good crowd, good local music. Food from a truck a long wait and not very good. They charge a $5.00 per person entrance fee. Beware it applies to all people over 3 years of age. THIS IS A Rip-Off. If not for tis fee it would be 3 of 5 rating.See more..
2.0Lindt Chocolate Shop(1 review) - Sale not clear!! Tuesday: 10:00 AM - 9:00 PM Spent < 1 hour Speciality & Gift Shops
Chocolate heaven but got disappointed with their sale, $15 for 50 pcs but has to be weigh? Location: It is located inside Woodbury Commons Outlet, the store is big with lots of chocolate display! Service: The woman offers free chocolate pieces to try their new flavor which is Matcha and Dulce de leche. She gave me Matcha and I asked her if I can get Dulce too, she gave it to me but she looks annoyed. Food: 4 flavors stand out for me here: MATCHA (a must!), DULCE DE LECHE, PISTACHIO, CAPPUCCINO and MANGO. Price rating: 6/10, not bad for lunch. The problem is they say even online $15 for 50 pcs but the cashier has to weigh it. Then we had extra 3 pcs and she charged us $3 for those 3 pcs! So where is the sale there? Lol OMG I will definitely go back for the flavors specially matcha! But they have to make their sale clear!See more..
2.0Tupper Lake Golf Club(1 review) - Interesting Front Nine; Skip the Back Nine Spent More than 3 hours Golf Courses I golfed here with some friends. The course is a little rundown with a fun/interesting front nine and a boring and tedious back nine. The front nine featured a varied terrain, with grassy, fairly well-kept fairways and mediocre greens. There was a good mix of shade and sun and we had fun. The back nine was unirrigated, mostly hardpan dirt with very little grass. Many of the fairways were just parallel, separated by trees with some killer hills and gullies. The greens were better than the front nine. Since the scorecard has no map and there is no handout with the course layout, there wasn't much of a way to ascertain the layout of each hole, save for the sign on the tee. This made the many blind hills difficult. In fact, some of the greens feature bells to ring when you've completed the hole, since those behind you can't see the green. The practice range was pretty much a field with a small teeing strip of uneven soil and clumps of grass. The paved cart paths, where there were some, were old and potholed. The pathways on the fairways were extremely bumpy. The front nine is a fun round and worth a quick morning nine holes, but I'd skip the back nine. My research shows that the current back nine was completed as a WPA project in 1932 with assistance from the local Oval Wood Dish company. The current front nine was completed in 1941. The course bills itself as a "Donald J. Ross" design, but most news articles seem to credit Willard G. Wilkinson.See more..
