    The staff at SOC was awesome! They went above and beyond from the moment I called Jessica to book the trip, to the moment we got off the boat with our guide, Liam. Jessica not only guided me to the best time of day to book, she also found out about my groups’ interests and booked us a guide that had similar interests. The rafting itself with our guide, Liam, was so fun! He was very professional yet fun. We stopped to have a water gun fight and to swim. We learned about the different categories of rapids and a little history about the area. Liam recommended running trails for the boys (all cross country runners), great local restaurants and fun local activities. This was the best rafting experience we’ve had. I highly recommend it.     We had an amazing day on the river with Bob. The run is a great mix of exciting rapids and some time to slow down and enjoy nature. Bob was training two of his guides on our trip so we got to hear some of the small details they focus on to make this the best experience for their customers, finding the most fun route down the river and finding the best spots to stop for lunch, etc. I'm not sure the bigger companies can match that. By the way, the two younger guides were great on their turns guiding us and are clearly ready to be out on their own. They were all great people to spend a few hours with as well. Finishing at the shop instead of getting back on the bus was very convenient. See more..

    We had a great run on the Hudson River with our guide, Cody. He gave the five of us our safety talk and boat commands (i.e.. "Forward 2", "Back 1", "Lean in") and then we put the raft in the water. Did a little practicing before we headed out. And when we headed out, we immediately met some wild rapids. Note - You are going to get wet! Dress for it. Cody kept a good running commentary, whether it was how the river "works" or the wildlife in the area or just some good stories. There was a stop near a waterfall where we had a snack and a drink (no booze. this is not the place for that). Cody invited someone to ride the bow in a short section of rapids, bull riding style, and I had to try. I think I lasted 4.5 seconds but what a ride!     The folks at the Kayak Shack are great. They are very knowledgeable and friendly. Their prices are great and the entire day at Baggs Landing was so fun. It was my first time on a kayak and certainly won't be the last. I love the Kayak Shack. They are an awesome attraction in the Plattsburgh, NY area. See more..

    I booked a fishing trip for my husband, 17yo son and his friend. They had never fished the Hudson before from on the water and this was a great way to get to know the river system. Tom hooked the guys up with all the poles, and lures that they needed. He also packs a great lunch. The guys had a great day, catching fish and telling tales! The guys spent about 8 hours on the water, Tom was in no rush and took as much time as my men wanted. They are looking forward to more fishing with Tom. See more..
