  1. 4.5 Uncle Sam Boat Tours (1.239 reviews)
    - Guided Tour was very "left-centric"

Due to COVID restrictions, they modified the tours. All seats were assigned. We took the American Narrows Tour which was very pleasant. The guide was young but very knowledgeable but everything he pointed out was to his right going both ways which was our left as we were seated port side. The tour would have been been improved had he pointed out things on both sides as we traveled so that those on his left didn't have to constantly strain to see things. The captain took the microphone to give more detail because we passed a "laker" on the tour and he described the ship to us. The tour ended at Heart Island where Bolt Castle is to allow those who wished to get off and tour Bolt Castle. Definitely the highlight of the trip to be able to tour there. I recommend anyone planning to spend time at Bolt Castle as part of their tour, to plan on an early tour so ample time can be devoted to Heart Island. We had hoped to also tour Singer Castle, but all tours for Singer were full the week we were there. See more..
  2. 4.0 Museum of the City of New York (1.037 reviews)

Been to NYC many times and passed this museum several times in favor of The Met and the Guggenheim, which are in the same neighborhood, but I never stopped in until I was invited to a wedding there. What a great venue not only for the wedding but the galleries remained open for the wedding guests to enjoy while the wedding party took pictures after the ceremony and before the reception. It was a great way to kill about 90 minutes while gaining some insight into the history of New York City. Highly recommend it, whether you’re going to another event there or not! See more..

    - Great tour on glass bottom boat!

We spent yesterday on the Rock Island tour on one of the glass bottom tour boats, and had a ball. The staff is very professional and the guide informative and entertaining. I felt we learned a number of things about the area that we did know before. The tour included an hour on the Island which was just enough to climb the lighthouse, see little museum and enjoy our picnic lunch. Lunch btw was a great deal, $10 each for fresh grilled chicken wrap, mac salad, chips, cold drink and 2 homemade cookies, all orders with tickets and waiting in cooler for us in a bag with our name. A great way to spend an afternoon See more..

    - Smiles and Sunshine Along the Canal

We arrived 30 minutes ahead as advised. They did not begin boarding until 10 am. The boarding process was quick and organized. The crew members were friendly and helpful. The boat was prestine and seating was comfortable. People were able to pick their seats either on the main floor where the snack bar was which offered shade or the upper deck which had fun sun. We chose the upper deck. The captain narrated the tour with interesting historical tidbits and made a few jokes that had the patrons smiling and enjoying the ride. The music that was played transported us back in time to when the Canal was at its prime. It was a wonderful ride down the Erie Canal. What a wonderful way to spend a summer day! See more..
  5. 4.5 West Point Tours (438 reviews)
    - Great Experience!

We took the SeaStreak ferry tour on Sunday from WallStreet/Pier 11 in Manhattan and made a total of three stops before arriving (Bear Mountain, Cold Springs and finally West Point). Our tour director Joe was very knowledgeable and made the experience quite enjoyable. WP had a tour bus picked us up at the dock and drove us to the chapel, to the overlook spot with the most incredible views and finally to the visitor center/museum (it was a two-hour tour). The only thing I wished was included in the tour was the ability to go to the now public restaurant and a tour of one of the 5000 sq ft houses where the professors live. NOTE: You will definitely need more time to see the museum (separate from the visitor center) at the end of your tour so choose your time wisely. See more..
  6. 4.0 Sagamore National Historic Landmark Tours (63 reviews)
    - BEAUTIFUL SERENITY

10/15/21 I walked the loop trail out then back again today (7.4 miles total), not another soul out there today ….just me and my dog. Found the John Hoyt memorial iron cross, and got decent views of the lake. The views of the lake are limited and can basically be seen at the beginning and the end of this trail, but they are beautiful on a nice day…it was a bit overcast today. This trail is well worn and easy to do! So quiet, and serene…❤️ See more..
  7. 4.5 Sacket's Harbor Heritage Area & Visitors' Center (13 reviews)
    - There is so much History in this Visitor's Center

Once we entered the Visitor's Center, we were welcomed with open arms. The lady was super nice and knew her stuff. She offered to see a 10 minute movie about this town and it was quite worthwhile to see it. The whole history of this town is well documented here, with maps, drawings, artifacts and many more. Mr. Sacket is the founder of this town. He liked that the harbor was protected by natural elements. After WWII this town went through hard times. Many left the village, but now it is revitalized again. I am happy about that. To understand the town better, I would encourage anyone to enter the Visitors' Center. They have lots of info on their walls and even artifacts. It's quite worthwhile! See more..
