Dumbo, an acronym for Down Under the Manhattan Bridge Overpass, is a neighborhood in the New York City borough of Brooklyn. 4.5Williamsburg(1.706 reviews) - A Different View of the City Neighborhoods
Just a quick subway ride from Manhattan on the L train to Bushwick and then after walking around there seeing street art and having a beer & a taco hop back on the L train to Bedford Avenue in Williamsburg. It was quiet on a Friday afternoon to just wander the street. Grabbed a NY slice at Joe's Pizza, had a beer, took in more street art. The Mona Lisa of Williamsburg is the most well known mural, 4 stories high. The photograph was submitted into a contest by a 17 year old in 2014. Domino Park is a real delight to walk, same architects who designed the High Line and Little Island. Just wonderful views of the Manhattan skyline. I had walked the Brooklyn Bridge before and DUMBO so this time walked back to Manhattan on the Williamsburg Bridge. It's noisier but not crowded. I've been to NYC many times so really enjoyed doing something I hadn't done before. I have heard though that it is quite busy on the weekends here.See more..

4.5Dyker Heights(635 reviews) - Visit but not on a tour Neighborhoods
Visiting New York in December I'd read seeing dyker heights is must do. I booked a tour with get your guide and went with my daughter in her twenties. We met outside the hotel yotel and the bus and hotel were really easy to find. On the bus the tour guide does tell you interesting facts about new york land marks you are passing. Once we got to dyker heights we ended up only actually getting an hour there. Truthfully it wasn't long enough. Although it was really cold there, there are a few vans selling hot drinks so once we walked with a drink we were really enjoying the large houses covered in amazing lights. Some houses were playing music and it felt really festive. Whilst not all the houses are decorated there are plenty are. Our tour felt rushed and we didn't get to see all the houses and enjoy them enough. I would definitely recommend visiting dyker heights but would get the tube, train there or bus and make your own way there to spend enough time to realky enjoy it. See more..
4.5Park Slope(513 reviews) - The best place to stay Neighborhoods
After so many trips to New York (>50), we wanted to do something else and Park Slope is absolutely the best neighbourhood to stay. It is relaxed, people are friendly and extremely helpful and. you can find everything you need and if you are desperate for big city live, it only takes 30 minutes and you are back in downtown Manhattan.See more..
I lived in NY for almost nine years. I spent 3 of those years in and near Bushwick, yet I never walked around enough to see all the beauty and artistry that is Bushwick. My boyfriend surprised me with a walking tour (not sure which company). The energy, the people, the art, the culture...all portrayed through the colors and canvas that is Bushwick. So much artistry in a few short blocks. The collection is a must for those who love street art, or art in general. The art is constantly changing so what you see today may not be here next year. The best part is as you walk and wander, you see artists at work and if you stay long enough you see the art come to life.See more..

Lovely neighborhood with beautiful homes. I have found the best way is along Carroll Street (of course!) walking up from Bond Street to Smith. The block between Hoyt and Smith is stunning. Beautiful yards. The commercial block of Smith Street has local stores and eateries with a nice feel. A great neighborhood to bike through. See more..
