    Cave of the Winds image
Nestled on Goat Island, Cave of the Winds is an exhilarating tour that brings you very close to the falls. The tour starts with the indoor multimedia ‘World Changed Here Pavilion’ museum, where you can learn more about the falls’ history. Then, you're brought 175 feet down in an elevator, where you can get soaked at the Hurricane Deck, right next to Bridal View Falls. Plan your visit between May to October, before the onset of winter temperatures. You can also grab skip-the-line tickets as part of a tour, or even join a deluxe sightseeing tour of both the American and Canadian sides. – Tripadvisor See more..

Enjoyed the tour, nice to see there is access to see quite a bit of the locks without a ticket, but also, being able to get access to the tunnel, boat ride, and have a guided tour was worth the price. Tyler was a great tour guide, for being a high school student, he was captivating, informative, and knowledgeable. My husband has difficulty ambulating and was able to tolerate and navigate the tour, despite being a cave that was man made, the ground was level. See more..

  5. 4.0 Secret Caverns (205 reviews)
    - Worth the stop

We really enjoyed this tour. The guide is very knowledgeable about the cave and the area. Highly recommend a stop. Trip advisor info is outdated for them. They open at 10 am, not 9. They also only accept cash as a form of payment. It's $18/person, not the $100+ that TA boasts. See more..
  6. 4.5 Stone Church (34 reviews)
    - Fresh Air Gem!
Spent < 1 hour Historic Sites • Caverns & Caves • Hiking Trails
    Stone Church image
Enjoyed about an hour visit to the Stone Church in Dover Plains. Easy walk, not handicapped accessible though. You can go as far up to the cave as you feel comfortable. Hiking shoes are a good idea, as the rocks can get slippery. And to go inside...you might want something waterproof. Parking at the elementary school across the street is ideal. No parking on the actual driveway because its private property. See more..
  7. 4.0 Secret Caverns (28 reviews)
    - Cool little cave
Spent 1-2 hours Caverns & Caves
    Secret Caverns image
We were there for the first tour of the day on a Thursday during Easter break. We ended up being the only group on the tour (5 in our family). Tour guide was personable and informative. Really enjoyed it. Not a big cave, so be prepared to duck at a few points, and wear good footwear as it is wet. The walkway is narrow, so probably not good for claustrophobic people. Price was reasonable, and gift shop items are priced well too. It is cash only, so just be prepared. Definitely recommend :) See more..

The Coopers Cave is not a real cave, but a spot at the bottom of a dam for the hydroelectric plant. There is a small waterfall out of the dam running down to the river. A five minute stop. See more..
  9. 4.0 Ward-Gregory Cave (1 review)
    - Such an experience!
    Caverns & Caves
My group entered through the big room, and went into the cave toward the bath tub. I do reccommed that you are alright with tighter squeezes for this caving. Then entrance into this part of the cave is pretty tight (laying on your back and scooching or face first and crawling prone) and beyond that is a lot of crawling on your hands and knees. Then you come to the corkscrew, which is a VERY small place to squeeze through, and requires you to angle your body to even get through it. Luckily, if you backtrack about 20 feet, you can go through the bathtub and end up at the same place as the corkscrew. Personally I liked the bathtub (which required going knee high in cold water) because no more tight places, and it was prettier. The sump was really cool, a natural slide so to speak. But be careful in the water, it is deep and you should not fully submerge yourself. It is very cold. You will have to duck under the ceiling so your chest will get wet. (You may notice you body reacts negatively to this). From there on it is wide passages, most of which you can stand all the way up. My group did not go to the lake, but hope to later! Also, wear knee and elbow pads, helmets with lights, and skin tight-ish clothing. See more..
