4.0Belleayre Mountain Ski Center(164 reviews) - Family Friendly Frozen Fun Wednesday: Biking Trails • Hiking Trails • Ski & Snowboard Areas
Just a really nice experience, with new lodges and wonderful snow when nature participates. They do make snow, but it is your Northeast granular and packs hard. But the crowds aren't enough to ski off the cover. They have good spacing during this COVID season so you can enter the lodge and feel comfortable. Mid week lift tickets are priced to make taking the day off an option. The slopes are for all levels of skiers.See more..
This year we did 10 miles the first day and 15 miles the second day. Working up to the full 26 miles we do in a single trip. The first few miles are the toughest, following the canal is a joy.See more..

4.5Harlem Valley Rail Trail(72 reviews) - Exquisite! Great activity for families, serious bicyclists, and everyone in between. Biking Trails
I went for a bike ride on this trail and it was very pleasant. I went from Millerton to Amenia and back. It was a very flat trail and was not difficult in any sense. The views are decent and remind me slightly of the south of France. While I am yet to walk the trail, based on the people I saw walking on the trail it seems like it would be fun. Pedestrians and bicyclists were all respectful. Will definitely go again and bike the full trail. It's a good idea to end in Millerton, so that you can get a coffee and snack/meal at Irving Farm or Harney afterwards.See more..

5.0Rails to Trails Bike Path(2 reviews) - Wide, nicely paved path Spent < 1 hour Biking Trails • Hiking Trails
I really like how nicely paved and wide this trail is. It's used by many people....walking, biking....people getting on and off throughout the neighborhoods it passes through. The one downside is the many roads it crosses making you have to stop (or at least slow down) quite often compared to other paths I ride. But the scenery is nice even going past industrial areas. There's foliage separating backyards from the trail. I felt safe riding alone. I liked how it connects so many areas that otherwise you would have to ride on busy streets to get to. I started at Fillmore Ave. off the Erie canal trail in Tonawanda and rode to the end at Shoshone Park near Hertel Ave. in North Buffalo. I will use this path to do some shopping at places along the way in the future. Great trail!!See more..

5.0Taconic-Hereford Multiple Use Area(1 review) - Try the access point / parking area off of Pond Gut Road. Spent 2-3 hours Biking Trails • Nature & Wildlife Areas • Hiking Trails The parking area off of Tyrell Road can get ridiculously busy, especially on the weekends. This Multiple Use Area is a favorite of mountain bikers, a small minority of whom don't understand the concept of "Multiple Use". Some of the trails are getting eroded due to over-use. A MUCH better place for people and dogs is the small parking lot on Pond Gut Road. Park your car and take the trail on the right and follow the old road north. This is a nice shady stroll through some lovely hemlock and pine trees. Great place for birding.See more..
Saw a beautiful Herron floating along the canal. Not sure where best to park and can be muddy. Would be a good bike ride. See more..
