4.5St. Patrick's Cathedral(15.2k reviews)from $74.99 - Amazing Building Wednesday: 9:00 AM - 2:00 PM Spent 1-2 hours Churches & Cathedrals
St. Patrick’s Cathedral is the Mother Church of the Archdiocese of New York and the seat of its Archbishop. Built by contributions large and small, it remains emblematic of the ascendance of religious freedom in the New World. As such, this international landmark is a beacon of hope for those who share the Catholic faith and a source of inspiration to the more than five million visitors of every religious denomination welcomed here each year. St. Patrick’s Cathedral has stood strong, overlooking 5th Ave, since 1879. The vibrancy of its windows, the beauty of its music and the purpose of its charitable outreach call us to respond to our shared humanity. Saint Patrick’s Cathedral is a must see destination when visiting New York. Our tour has been crafted to capture the essence of the church. It addresses the rich history of the past and the incredible art and architecture that makes it one of a kind. Timothy Cardinal Dolan, narrates the tour with Monsignor Robert Ritchie.See more..
We went to 5:30pm Mass on Saturday. The church and parish buildings are beautiful. The priest, Fr. Mazur, worked solo (no altar servers or lectors). He gave an excellent sermon on authority and servant leadership while running an efficient service.See more..

4.0Old Stone Fort(39 reviews) - Interesting assemblage of old items in an historic church Temporarily closed - Closed until May 1, 2023 Spent 1-2 hours Speciality Museums • Battlefields • Educational sites • History Museums • Churches & Cathedrals
The museum in the old stone fort is 130 years old and seems to have had a consistent philosophy during its existence - if someone wants to donate it, we're happy to display it. The items in the old fashioned glass cases cover the ancient rocks through a recent hurricane damage and give glimpses into every facet of the surrounding area. Some of the historic materials are amazing - old letters from prominent Revolutionary War figures are a real treat to see. Some of the other exhibits take an enthusiast to appreciate ( there are a lot of rocks and arrowheads that, to an untrained eye, look much the same). All together it is charming and informative. Though we came without kids we did see several families happily engaged in a treasure hunt through the museum with the kids filling out a sheet of items they had searched for. Often a museum like this is dull to children but these kids seemed very engaged. One lack we felt was in an exhibit that told the story of the church itself and the dramatic events of the raids on Schoharie during the Revolutionary War when it was used as a place of shelter during raids. Still, the museum is well worth a visit.See more..
This church is so small you'll miss it if you're not careful. The gps will take you to an intersection, and the chapel will be in a pond just past that point. A quirky road trip stop that's good for a photo. See more..
We visited the Allegheny National Forest area last month, and so as part of a driving loop that went through Olean, I had read about the basilica. We decided to stop in. It was one of those jaw-dropping experiences once inside. Truly beautiful architecture, and the windows are just amazing - could spend well over an hour just looking at the detail in them. We met the pastor while still outside, so that was an extra treat. I highly recommend a visit if you're in town. My only regret is that there was noone playing the organ at the time - I'd love to be there for a service, being an organist. It looks like the church has a lovely pipe organ. I'm so glad we came across it and decided to visit. See more..

4.5New Hartford Presbyterian Church(3 reviews) - Welcoming Church - Great Minister Spent 1-2 hours Historic Sites • Churches & Cathedrals
This beautiful, old, historic church is located on the Green in The Village of New Hartford. It's such an interesting old place. The sanctuary is medium sized and very simple, with few embellishments, except for the lovely stained glass windows. Great new minister, Dr. Sue Riggle who gives moving and thoughtful sermons. Wonderful music and singing under the direction of Susan Sandy - she is also new. Our kids love the Sunday School and Children's Church. They always feel happy and nurtured there. A good place for kids.See more..
Hidden on a side street in Cold Spring is a wonderful little Church, loaded with history and tracing its history to 1828, The First Presbyterian Church moved to its current location about 1867 and held its first service in the current church about 1868. Recently I attended a wonderful coral concert led by Cat Guthrie. The Chapel is small and inviting with beautiful stain glass windows. And the members were welcoming to all who attended.See more..

Visiting Schenectady for a wedding which was being held at the Bethel Full Gospel Church. It is just a really nice, fairly small and endearing. The wedding was propelled mostly by songs and music. An enclosed drum pit and professional keyboard augmented by guitars and beautiful voices. The bride and groom felt compelled to join in raising their voices and the guests who knew the words also joined in for a wonderful experience. The sound was excellent and well thought out and the voice were clear as a bell. It must be nice to partake of this experience every week or less.See more..

4.0Coila Church(1 review) - Very friendly people Spent 1-2 hours Churches & Cathedrals
We were visiting the area for the first time and came with our son and his wife and young kids to church here. The people were so friendly and made us feel very welcome. They even gave my elderly mother the church flowers to take with her :-) Very sweet. The music was a nice mix of older hymns and newer praise songs. Regular pastor was away on vacation but the preacher who filled in for him was good. Only one complaint, there is only one ladies room and it was very hard for my disabled mother to get up the stairs into the church. However, it's an older church so I assume nothing you can do about that. Recommended.See more..
4.0Ballston Center Church(1 review) - Very nice service and friendly people Churches & Cathedrals
We came to visit this church while visiting our son, daughter in law and four young grandkids who live close by. This is their new church home. The church building is beautiful and has lots of parking. No stairs to climb to get into the church which was helpful for my 86 year old mother. The service started at 10:30 a.m. This church is part of the Associate Reformed Presbyterian church. It is a very traditional service with a choir and a standard worship format of service. I have to commend the piano player who was outstanding and played beautifully prior to the service starting. The pastor gave a good sermon and we enjoyed our visit.See more..

As seasonal residents in the Thousand Islands area, my husband and I absolutely love the River Community Church in Clayton, and visit it as often as we can! If you are looking for a great place to worship with wonderful (contemporary) music and powerful weekly messages, in a warm, loving, and casual setting, you would love worshiping at the River Church! Services are at 10 AM on Sundays but they are a very active church with events throughout the week. We love the worship team and are always inspired by Pastor Chuck's messages. Newcomers and visitors are always warmly welcomed! Maybe we'll see you there some Sunday.See more..
5.0Christ Episcopal Church(1 review) - Just a little bit closer with God Churches & Cathedrals I was raised in this church and was Confirmed there as well. My wedding was also held there over 50 years ago. The church is the oldest church in Binghamton and is absolutely beautiful both on the outside and on the inside. All natural stone church and parish with beautiful marble inside. When I sang in the choir we had a mens choir, ladies choir, and a childrens choir. The real pipe organ was a sight to behold as well. The congregation was always friendly, helpful and like a large family. I sure do miss the church. (I moved many years ago too far away to return)See more..
