We visited Our Lady of Victory Basilica, a beautiful church built on a postcard campaign asking for fifty cent donations, Much Italian marble was used in the interior. In the basement, the Fr. Baker museum is very interesting, chronicling the life of the man who built that church and an orphanage that tried to care for children in need. No admittance charge and plenty of free parking.See more..
4.5Union Church of Pocantico Hills(157 reviews) - You'll be happy you experienced this Church and its gorgeous windows Wednesday: Spent < 1 hour Historic Sites • Points of Interest & Landmarks • Religious Sites
This unassuming country church contains a stained glass window by Henri Matisse and nine windows by Marc Chagall, all commissioned by the Rockefeller family. The enthralling story of the windows and how they came to be here is the story of relationships among distinguished patrons and collectors of modern art, two great 20th-century artists, and the leading connoisseurs and tastemakers of the day.See more..

Very lovely and peaceful. I especially loved the statues of the children but you can find many saints in the sculpture garden. Excellent gift shop. Sadly we did not have the time needed to stroll the whole grounds but ii would return if ever in the area again. I would go there again. As a bonus i was able to introduce my granddaughter to the story of Fatima. See more..

A very spiritual retreat from the bustling of the city. Rollins fields, hills and serene beauty all around make this a peaceful place. The noise of the swimming Ducks in the pond and the Robins near the statue of Our Lady of Genesee are the only sounds that break the deep quiet of the surroundings. The Chapel is a circular area making one feel embraced while praying and meditating. Books of Psalms are present at the pulpits and the Psalms for the day are posted in the Chapel board encouraging their readings. Next to the right of the Chapel a store selling bread, honey, sweets and religious merchandise is found. The Monk’s Bread is made here. I bought a loaf and a Parmesan crusted crackers that were delicious. I also got A Book of Psalms and some sacred music cds. I found a magic place to visit when I want some solitude and inner peace.See more..

I picked up a brochure for the RUSSIAN MUSEUM at the Holy Trinity Monastery and immediately wanted to go! I had been to the monastery before, but only into the bookstore and cemetery. This time I arrived when the doors to the sanctuary were open. Words cannot fully describe the beauty both inside and out!!! The museum was full of beautiful relics and icons, with easy to under labels describing them. The cemetery behind the church is interesting, too.See more..

A Sacred Place of Peace and Healing - Home of the first Native American saint, Kateri Tekakwitha. The Shrine is home to Caughnawaga, the only fully excavated Mohawk village of that era. Nearby, the holy spring, whose water was used to baptize her, still flows here. Many pilgrims claim cures after drawing its crystal clear water and praying through the intercession of Saint Kateri. The Kateri Shrine Native American Exhibit is housed in a converted Dutch barn built in 1782 by Simon Veeder. The exhibit contains an impressive mixture of artifacts from many different Native American cultures. Also, a miniature replica of the village of Caughnawaga shows how the original Mohawk village appeared over three hundred years ago.See more..

5.0Joseph Knight, Sr. Home(3 reviews) - One of the highlights of our church history tour! Wednesday: 9:00 AM - 6:00 PM Spent 1-2 hours Historic Sites • Religious Sites
This is truly a great hidden gem when visiting the church historical sites. We found out about it while visiting the priesthood restoration sites across the border in Pennsylvania, and thought it would just be an interesting photo op. But when we got there, the nicest people in the world came out to greet us and gave us one of the most interesting personal tours of the grounds and the house. Turns out this is where one of the first branches of the church was located, and Hyrum Smith was the first branch president. How cool is that!! And it turns out the people who gave us the tour were just volunteers. They really seemed to love what they were doing. The house was really cool and they had one room even set up like it was when the Colesville Branch of the church met here. These nice folks even took us over to the Josiah Stoal home and gave us a tour there as well. I highly recommend this place!See more..
5.0Catholic Shrine of the North American Martyrs(3 reviews) - One of my favorites Wednesday: 9:00 AM - 6:00 PM Spent 2-3 hours Points of Interest & Landmarks • Religious Sites • Churches & Cathedrals
I grew up going to this Shrine multiple times during the year. It provides a peaceful, natural surrounding to sit and pray. There is also the ability to walk the stations of the cross through nature. Beautiful location to attend Catholic mass and learn about Saint Kateri.See more..
The staff was amazingly helpful, astonishingly kind, and wonderfully nice to us all along the way. The grounds are incredibly beautiful, replete with rolling hills, well-groomed lawns and extremely clean quarters. Food, in our case served buffet-style, was served hot and very tasty, with options for gluten-free and vegans. When I needed room for 250 guests, a tent was available for our use. It was MAGNIFICENT!!!See more..

We were driving through the area and came upon this beautiful little facility. A couple of folks were outside, and we spent half an hour talking about Zen and the center.
