Sky High Aerial Adventure Park image
As a 57 year old relatively fit person this was a real challenge. There were heights, physical challenges, and use of every ounce of strength I had. I was scared at times and the fact that there wasn’t the ability to turn back pushed me to finish. It was awesome. You’re on your own once you’ve started. Go with friends. (I went with my husband and adult children). Bucket list: ✔️ See more..

    Clark Sports Center image
If you are headed to Cooperstown and you want a fun place to go with the kids in any kind of weather that doesn't cost an arm and a leg, head to the Clark Sports Center (on the Cooperstown tourist map). We all played basketball, the kids ran on the indoor track and played ping-pong, we all went swimming in the Olympic sized pool and the kids off the diving board in the diving pool. There were exercise rooms, squash and raquetball and handball rooms, aerobic rooms, fooseball, and much, much, more. The locker rooms were immaculate. Built for Cooperstown by the Clark Foundation, this sports center is a gem and the fees are nominal for a day pass for out-of-towners. Getting there is easy (just off Route 28) and parking is plentiful and free. See more..

  9. 3.5 Liberty Paintball (6 reviews)
    - paintball
Spent 2-3 hours Sports Complexes • Game & Entertainment Centers
    Liberty Paintball image
We had a lot of fun visiting Liberty Paintball for a group outing! We had a bunch of people in the group so booked the whole place. The registration process is pretty smooth and we got our gear quickly. The paintball gear seemed to work fine - mine ran out of air pretty quickly after two rounds, but other than that was easy to use. There are a number of maps and terrains you can play on as well as different styles of games. The refs there were friendly and will help your group along. They were also great about enforcing safety and eye protection requirements. See more..

  14. 3.5 Red Hook Pool (3 reviews)
    - A Lovely Pool with a Fair Locker Room
Spent < 1 hour Sports Complexes
I went lap swimming for the first time in this pool. It was clean, safe, uncrowded, and free!! Yes, there are all sorts of rules, but it's worth it to be able to swim outdoors in Brooklyn. Be sure to bring shoes to wear in the locker room. There are separate rooms for changing, or you can use the communal room. I met 2 new friends, and I can't wait to go back. If the locker room weren't an old basket ball court, the pool would be 5 stars. See more..
  15. 5.0 The Olympic Speed Skating Oval (3 reviews)
    - A piece of history to skate on
    Sports Complexes
The Olympic Speed Skating Oval image
Myself and my wife , along with a couple of friends and little ones had a great time at the rink, enjoying the public skating and all the Olympic history vibes around us. We all skated for about three hours and while it was busy, it never too busy, always plenty of room for everyone. Medical and security staff on hand were helpful, nice and friendly. The ice itself was great for skating mostly due to the renovations made last year. Because the rink is now networked to the Olympic Center’s new four-rink high-efficiency refrigeration system the ice is more consistent. The mountain views around the rink are also amazing. 16. 2.5 Hockey Outlet Ice Complex (2 reviews)
    - Coldest Hockey Rink in NY
    Sports Complexes
We've been to a lot of hockey rinks since our nephew's play hockey traveling from Ohio. But man was this place cold. I had to get a coat since the jacket wasn't warm enough. The staff was great and easy to talk to. The store pretty well stocked, but like most places overpriced. The The building is old and most of the parking lot is gravel. Everyone was complaining about the ice. One section of the boards would send the puck airborne. See more..

  20. 4.0 Lichtenberg Tennis Center (1 review)
    - Functional, not Fancy
    Spent 1-2 hours Sports Complexes
My daughter plays regularly at this facility so my wife and I, during our visit to New York, went with her to watch her play. The building has a number of courts, all indoor, that are all illuminated with indirect lighting. Nets on all courts can be pulled out if action is taking place on side-by-side courts. The viewing area for spectators is all on a level above the courts so play can be easily observed. Since the football stadium is just down the hill, once could catch multiple sports within walking distance if the schedule allowed. See more..

    - Indoor Adult Softball League--often kept well into the night due to overbooking :(
Wednesday: 9:00 AM - 11:00 PM Spent 1-2 hours Sports Complexes
Dim lighting, chilly temperatures, and frequent start time delays made our experience less enjoyable than it could have been. I probably wouldn't have signed up if I had known that our Sunday evening game start times would often be around 9pm. Tip: You are expected to purchase all refreshments on site. See more..
