Governor Mario M. Cuomo Bridge image
Watching the construction of the new Governor Mario Cuomo Bridge as the old Tappan Zee Bridge was slowly demolished was a wonderful way to see the “ new” replacing the “ old” ! However the new bridge offers for than substantially reduced traffic jams.its a spectacular architectural achievement and now provides a wonderful way to get some exercise with the new walkway that spans from Tarrytown to Nyack. It’s free and has ample room as well as seating areas throughout the walkway. It’s patrolled and there is constant video monitoring. Masks are required and hand sanitizers are placed at the entrances of the pathways . It’s a fantastic way to experience the beauty of the Hudson River and to my surprise it wasn’t windy! If you have noise canceling headphones, wear them! While the views are spectacular, you are walking next to 5 lanes of ongoing traffic! See more..

This is visible from the Pine Streer bridge where many have taken to the secret tradition of writing a note or signing their name and date on a lock and then locking to the fence on on bridge. You can walk across the upside down bridge or tressel by entering the tracks at your own risk near the zip line attraction. There is a man walk but it is a long way down to your death if you dare to cross. This picture is from the middle of the upside down bridge of the locks. See more..

    Queenston-Lewiston Bridge image
This bridge is an international bridge. On one side it is Canada, at the other side it is the United States. During the summer, the bridge is often congested due to the many vehicles going to the States or Canada. It's a lovely bridge, an arch bridge. While I was walking near the gorge where the Sir Adam Beck Power Station Number 2 is located, I could appreciate its beauty! Wow! Worthwhile to see! See more..

    Salisbury Center Covered Bridge image
I can't believe we almost missed this stunning covered bridge! Finding ourselves with extra time we decided to take a detour and see the Salisbury Historic Covered Bridge. Being early October the drive was stunning as the colors were coming into their fullness. Quiet country roads rolled us along and we passed several Amish communities. Families passed us on horse and buggy their farms and roadside stands speckling the country side. The covered bridge itself was straight from a painting. Rustic weathered wood and babbling water surrounding it on both sides. A lovely walking path with huge bolders perfect for perching on and taking photos. Of all the covered bridges we visited on our trip this was by far our favorite. It was straight out of a Hallmark movie. See more..

  17. 2.0 Castleton Bridge (2 reviews)
    - Quiet Bridge Across the Hudson River
    Monday: 12:00 AM - 11:59 PM Spent < 1 hour Points of Interest & Landmarks • Bridges
Headed east to New England, we crossed this historic (1959) toll bridge over the 315-mile (506.9 km) long Hudson River. Mid-morning summer traffic was light. The grayish green, four-lane, three-span, one-deck bridge took us 135 feet (41.1 m) above the river. The 5,369-foot (1,636.5 m) long, cantilever through-truss structure on NY 912M carried a fairly rural segment of highway linking I-87 and I-90. It’s viewable from below from the 1,052-acre (425.7 ha) Schodack Island State Park. We appreciated the views up and down the river. If the bridge hadn’t had a toll – and if it had had a vista-point rest stop or a state welcome center on either riverbank – we’d have liked it much more. See more..
