I've been going there for about 20 years. It's changed over time. I still enjoy going. It is a fun day. Some people get dressed in Renaissance period clothes which you can rent or buy if you are so inclined. The thing I miss most is when they performed Shakespearian plays.See more..

It wasn't one of Shakespeare's, but I really enjoyed "The Most Lamentable Trial of Miz Martha Washington" I saw there recently. Thanks to Covid, I hadn't seen a live performance since Dec. of 2019, but the precautions taken by the HVSF made me comfortable attending this performance. Outdoors (under a tent), vaccine/masks required, socially distanced seating - safety done right! The whole experience was comfortable and fun.See more..

I've had the chance to see some of Frank Gehry's best around the world. The structure is marvelous and FG at his best! It's dreamy, soft curving shapes among the rich forest background made me melt- like hearing a great jazz singer. If you like this stuff, this is a MUST VISIT.See more..
3.5Foothills Performing Arts and Civic Center(15 reviews) - Not a bad seat in the house: Eagles' Tribute Band Wednesday: 10:00 AM - 5:00 PM Theatre & Performances On my first trip to the Foothills PAC, I was so impressed! I attended a concert on January 27th and it was fantastic to see so many people enjoying a conert. In our small rural area, such events can be hard to get to, usually requiring a commute to a nearby city. The musioc was great and there literally isn't a bad seat in teh house. It was inexpensive and we had a blast.See more..

Had the pleasure of seeing & hearing the great oldest in America pipe organ built in 1847 & moved here in 1888. The organ has over 1900 pipes and concerts are usually June-August. Currently under consideration of being declared a National Landmark! The building & town is like stepping back in time! Like going to a summer camp but only small town size. You can imagine the meeting & social events happening here! Was quite a treat to hear Bach's Organ Toccata & Fugue in D Minor as exit music...but we stayed to watch organist & hear this special treat!See more..
Saw AJ Croce at the Strand. I’m a bit more used to fancier theaters with carpeting. The Strand has painted concrete floors. This allowed guests to bring soft drinks and water into the performance. They even sold soda in the lobby at very reasonable prices. Congratulations, Plattsburgh, for a great venue. See more..
Great show. Actors were superb in character! The theater was small and comfy. There was coffee, chilled drinks (nonalcoholic), and sweets to purchase. Loved the intimacy of the theater.See more..
4.5The Screening Room(5 reviews) - Family owned, wonderful little nugget! Theatre & Performances It's name says it all. Run by family, food and drink (alcohol too!) comfy sitting (reserve the best) and great old, new and weird movies. Nicest folks, so affordable and a nice break from the corporate movie houses! I hope this place gets more and more admirers but not too many because one of these days I'll get those wing backed chairs! No stairs and plenty of room for wheelchairs.See more..
5.0The Ellicott Creek Playhouse(4 reviews) - Season Ticket Holders For Life Theatre & Performances The Niagara Regional Theatre Group (NRTG) is the best kept secret in WNY. As a season ticket holder for many years, the quality and diversity of the plays each and every season are outstanding...from musicals to comedy to drama. Season tickets are very affordable and you have great views from every seat in the house. Least, but not last, the dedicated actors are all outstanding, and it seems like each and everyone of them could be lead in each play. Thank you for great entertainment for the last 8 years.See more..
4.5Palmer Opera House(2 reviews) - Make this a stop if you're passing through Cuba, NY Spent 1-2 hours Concerts • Theaters • Theatre & Performances
The Palmer Opera House is a newly restored building that was literally falling apart and down. If you saw the slides of the original shape the building was in you would never believe it was the same place. It houses the Cuba cheese museum downstairs, it has an elevator for handicapped persons, but the beautiful banister staircase is something to behold. A lot of the paint, tiles, and things were donated to the restoration project. Monies were raised from the townspeople and surrounding areas to do this project which was years in the making. Volunteers also contributed to cleaning, painting, carpentry and the like. The stage kept original wall with old graffiti from the 1800's and there is a special graffiti on the left wall that I don't want to spoil it here for anyone that you've got to see, It has wonderful acoustics, a wonderful stage, plenty of seating. People have already gotten married here with their reception! I recommend this stop for their many shows and open mic nights. See more..
