    Lawrence Farms Orchards image
We took our 23 month old granddaughter here. Charged $3. Per person to get in ( most farms in area charge nothing ). Place is nice for young kids and staff is friendly. Prices for produce and food was high - ended up getting pumpkins and apples for less at a grocery store. Very crowded on weekend. Will not return due to high prices See more..
  4. 3.0 Barton Orchards (129 reviews)
    - Overcrowded
    Farms
    Barton Orchards image
On this day, it was a nice fall day. They were way way overcrowded. $27 per adult to wait on ridiculous lines for food or anything else. The apple cannons were not operating. The mini golf was not operating. This place could be worth $27 if it was not over crowded. I wasn't there to apple pick but I heard it was well over $20 to pick a bag of apples. There was a good band and alcoholic drinks were about $9 each. See more..
  5. 4.0 Masker Orchards (117 reviews)
    - For the experience
    Farms
    Masker Orchards image
After some research we picked this orchard for the picnic space, lots of places to picnic, bring your own stuff no charge and park anywhere in the orchard. You only pay for apples by the bag whatever you decide to take home. Not many varieties of apples, not ripe yet either, I think end of September best, do not expect peace and quiet, adults are worse that kids here, people brought dogs which I did not appreciate them running around, people don’t really care about your peace and quiet to enjoy the lovely views and orchard experience, some people still come close to you even though there is so much space and trees to go around. Anyways, people need to respect this place, I witnessed some adults throw apples at trees and leaving fruit to waste, also watched people in expensive cars try to hide apples and not pay when leaving, do not embarrass yourself, so much here they offer for free at least pay for your apples. The staff here was very nice and pleasant to deal with! See more..

Greig Farm is a third-generation family farm located in Red Hook, NY. Our farm was founded in 1942 by Marion and Robert Greig, who began the farm with a small herd of dairy cows, an apple orchard, and a strawberry patch, which was open to the public. Their son, Norman Greig, began farming in 1975 and gradually added blueberries, blackberries, raspberries, pumpkins and other crops to the farm. We have always felt a responsibility to provide our community with a welcoming space and sustainably-grown, healthy produce. Our 1850s dairy barn was once home to seventy cows and today it is home to our farm market & cafe, a local craft market, and an art gallery. Our home is your home, and we look forward to the next 70 years in the Hudson Valley. See more..

They have baskets (half bushel sized) and small bags in the store for collecting the fruit. They also have wagons for patrons to use in the orchards. While it wasnt apple picking season, they do have an apple orchard as well! The bakery items in the store looked delicious and it took a lot of self control not to just buy 1 of everything! Unique spot - worth a visit with the family when on a trip to the country or if you are a local=- great inventive ways to use maple syrup - ( besides syrup!) try the vinegar and the BBQ sauce if you want your guests to extoll their praises over your salads and meats! See more..

Goold Orchards is now Windy Hill Orchards. The new family that owns it are awesome. Very family oriented and don’t charge for things the Goolds used too. You can actually afford to go there now. They don’t nickel and dime you like Sue Goold did. Free carriage rides and nice campfires. How nice. Really nicely remodeled county store. Got to try their apple pies. See more..

This weekend was Maple Weekend open house. We went right at prime time Sunday morning and when we got there, there was a line to get in to the restaurant setting area (that must tell you how good it is right there). Im so happy we waited in line and I would wait again if I had to. The whole time waiting all we smelled was awesome food and sap boiling, yum! Everyone who was working there was super nice and working hard. The food is all made fresh with fresh ingredients homemade by the owner and family. We all left super full and we were more than pleased with our meal. The prices were very good. On the way out, do not forget to grab some of MANY homemade, on site products. The Maple donuts are everything you could ask for. If you visit on one of the NYS Maple Weekends they will be boiling the sap right there for you to see, smell and sample. If you're ever in the area I recommend coming for breakfast (especially during sap season in the spring). See more..
