An amazing experience from beginning to end. Our pilot Scott was amazing, so experienced and we felt completely safe the entire time. The ground crew Mike (and i forget the other gentleman's name) were also fantastic. It is unbelievable the work that goes into these flights from wind speed/direction, where to take off, where to land, set up, tear down. Scott was in contact the entire time with the guys on the ground and the airport and our flight was smooth including the landing in the corn field. The views were fantastic, we flew approx 8 miles and were in the air for 50 minutes. We flew over countryside and farms, small towns, Hudson River. It was fun seeing people run out of their homes and stopping their cars to take pictures. A highly recommended once-in-a-lifetime experience.See more..
I want to give a shoutout to Chris and Deanna and their whole crew at Above the Clouds Hot Air Balloon Rides for helping me celebrate my 75th in high fashion. The balloons are full of hot air, Chris and Deanna definitely are not. From the time I signed up they kept me informed; their instructions were concise and humorous; and they kept their promise that the flight would be a wonderful adventure. On the ground, as the crew prepared (inflated) the balloons, Deanna reviewed what we needed to know and do and did a Stand up routine to keep any of the Nervous Nellies relaxed. My friend and I had the good fortune to be in Chris’ gondola (the proper name for the basket) as she piloted us over beautiful landscapes and doled out tidbits of history, geography and geology of the region. My daughter turned 16 on 9/7. We had big plans. Due to COVID the night before her birthday all our plans got cancelled. I found Fantasy Flights at 7:00 pm the night before her birthday with hopes to create a memorable experience. I left a message hoping that somehow I’d be able to pull this off. About 30 minutes later I received a call from Lana. She was wonderful. She was able to accommodate all of us on such short notice. The entire experience with this company was great. We had a beautiful sunrise flight with captain Ken and couldn’t have made the morning any better if we tried. Anyone looking for a company to fly with, I highly recommend Fantasy!See more..
Leave the cares of this world behind and enjoy a magnificent opportunity in the hands of a most skillful pilot and crew. We lifted off at about 6:00 am this morning and toured the area over Letchworth State Park to include descending to the valley floor and arising at the face of the falls. We gracefully kissed the river bed and slid our fingers across the top of a hickory tree. We lifted to perhaps 2,500 feet for a bird’s eye view of the park. Landing was smooth and perfectly controlled. Seriously, this is the best balloon ride in the area for doing more than hovering around a single spot. Bill Hughes is a balloonmaster extraordinaire. If you have never taken to the skies in a balloon, don't miss this. I surprised my husband with a trip in the fall (he thought we were going apple picking!). We arrived at this wonderfully amazing farm (check it out when you get back from the ride), around 7:00 in the morning and actually got to assist Bill in getting the balloon up and ready to soar, an experience in itself. The ride lasts about an hour and is very quiet and peaceful - we passed over wetlands with beaver dams, deer, pastured sheep, and a beautiful countryside, with Bill giving us a running commentary all the while. And when we landed - very neatly on a grassed area in a small suburban development - we helped to deflate, roll up and pack the balloon into a waiting SUV that brought us safely back to the farm. Don’t go ! They do not communicate closing and can support what they advertise. The night show is nothing like they say. They do not check tickets that’s why they will not offer a refund. The staff is bad and their boss is even worse!!!See more..
