Known as the Grand Canyon of the Adirondacks, Ausable Chasm is a sandstone gorge that offers incredible views, various hiking trails, and waterfalls. There are five miles of hiking trails for you to explore, including the scenic Inner Sanctum and Rim Walk trails. In the summer, go rafting or tubing along the river to beat the heat. You can also rock climb, rappel, and go on an obstacle course. Before you leave, pop by the Visitor Center to learn more about Ausable Chasm’s geological history. We really enjoyed this tour. The guide is very knowledgeable about the cave and the area. Highly recommend a stop. Trip advisor info is outdated for them. They open at 10 am, not 9. They also only accept cash as a form of payment. It's $18/person, not the $100+ that TA boasts. See more..
