   If your tripping to Central NY, a must for adventure and education is Herkimer Diamond Mines. There are many facets to a great time for adults and young adults although I did see some tots also. A person can rent a sledge hammer and experience knocking out these beautiful crystals. A genuine treat was Gordon, a college student with endless knowledge about geology and fossils. You can purchase these diamonds at the gift shop and the food at the snack bar was delicious and reasonably priced. All staff members know their subject are super friendly. I plan to return next summer season to take advantage of the camp grounds. See more..
