4.0Shoalhaven Zoo(378 reviews) - Suited to young kids Zoos
We found this place very expensive for what you got. $85 for a family ticket (plus $2 for a bag of animal food) - there was not very many animals there. I wouldn’t really call it a zoo. No elephants, giraffes, tigers and any of the stuff you expect at a zoo. Very spaced out, uneven walking ground. Done within 1 hour. The cafe however was a lovely place to warm up and they had great food. This “zoo” is more suited to those with younger kids. Staff that were out cleaning cages were not very friendly, one man even yelling at a monkey - inappropriate when there were young kids around. I think for what you get out of it, they should be charging a lot less. Obviously we were not expecting a zoo on the scale of Taronga, but having visited smaller zoos as well (hunter valley zoo), shoalhaven zoo was way under expectations.See more..
5.0Altina Wildlife Park(248 reviews) - A great experience! Monday: 8:00 AM - 6:00 PM Spent 2-3 hours Zoos
A fantastic tour with Ash. She was a wealth of information as she guided us around the park. In this zoo you are up close and personal with the animals watching them being fed - and this included lions and giraffes! And at the same time you are given information about how the animals came to be in the park, their breeding programs and how they are helping endangered species. I have never been in a zoo/wildlife park like this one. It was very special. Thanks Ash!See more..
4.0Birdland Animal Park(222 reviews) - Tranquil and rustic park - amazing birds Nature & Wildlife Areas • Zoos
Visited today and had a great time. Absolutely loved all the parrots and native birds they had. All healthy and well looked after. They staff were very nice and friendly and helpful! For anyone reading the negative reviews previously, yes they are small (they aren't a zoo and have never advertised as one, majority of their birds and animals are injured wildlife), its very disappointing to see so many people leave negative reviews for such a lovely place especially after they have survived the bushfires and covid. Please go visit and support them instead of putting them down when they are already struggling.See more..
