4.5The Rocks(8.941 reviews) - One of my favourite walks in Sydney Spent 2-3 hours Neighborhoods • Historic Walking Areas
I like to start at Wynyard and walk along York Street to St Phillips Church (the oldest Anglican Church in Sydney built in 1793). Turn left at the church and move into Clarence Street. Follow Clarence Street down to The Hero of Waterloo pub. Turn right towards The Garrison church (Built 1840). Go down through the Argyle Cut to The famous Rocks area. This historical part of Sydney has some very interesting buildings and shops. There are markets every weekend selling a huge variety of things. There’s a great vibe just walking around. I usually continue my walk on to the Museum of Contemporary Art. There are always several exhibitions on, some have an extra charge but some are free. The shop has a wonderful selection of Australian Souvenirs. Circular Quay is always lively and buzzing with people and buskers. From here I usually catch the train or walk up George Street back to Wynyard.See more..
5.0The National Pass(171 reviews) - Challenging in in places but well worth it Historic Walking Areas • Hiking Trails
We walked as a family of 2 adults and our kids age 16 and 14, setting off from the Wentworth Falls picnic area and completing the circular trail in a clockwise direction. The walk is challenging in places, so there is a level of fitness required in order to enjoy. 'Slack Stairs' wasn't as bad as it was made out to be I felt. The infrastructure was secure, though some of the paths along the bottom were a bit rough. We walked at a steady pace and thoroughly enjoyed the walk which took us 3 hours.See more..
As a former resident of the Entrance/Long Jetty, I found this a wonderful trip dowmn memory lane. The walk is picturesque and I'm pleased it gets a daily work out form locals and visitors. Brought back fond memories of Yesteryear. I think all towns whether coastal or inland have a picturesque tale of the past that would be enjoyed by townsfolk and travellers alike. Well Done Council - shame the mouth of the lake is not dredged open to improve the system though!See more..
We really enjoyed this spot! Easy drive in with a 4WD, drop toilets and multiple areas to park. The walk in is easy past the rustic cottage then a descent to water level to see the whaling station relics. It is hard to imagine whales being rigged up in this spot... we went out for a swim and tried to visualise a whale sitting in the water next to us! Great spot to meander, picnic, swim, journal & contemplate. Highly Recommended. See more..

Glad we stopped and make the 4km return walk. Easy path, which is mostly uphill initially for the 1st 1km approx.. 4.0Green Gully Walk(5 reviews) - Great huts, great views, great wallabies but needs vegetation rehab and feral animal removal Historic Walking Areas
We (group of 6) did this walk in winter as a post-covid getaway. The huts were great - we really enjoyed the fire pits and picnic tables outside, the hot showers and other amenities. The views were great. The history of the pastoralists was also interesting. Lovely post bushfire wildflowers. Cute brush tailed rock wallabies. The track is not a wilderness walk but a walk through reclaimed pasture land mostly on maintenance tracks and some off track (but clear foot pads). There’s a lot of disturbed vegetation around and pigs. The seedy weeds off track were bad. Sadly the summer bush fires attacked much of the tree canopy this area but it was good to see regrowth with lots of green understory growth and wildflowers. In sum, Green gully track is good for a fun socialising walk or a walk with total beginners who need some comfort. But don’t expect to see pristine forests and creeks.See more..
4.5Broken Hill Cemetery Walk(5 reviews) - A great insight into the town of Broken Hill's story Monday: 8:30 AM - 5:00 PM Spent 2-3 hours Historic Walking Areas
We thoroughly enjoyed our stroll through the cemetery. It really reflected some of the history of Broken Hill, with miners socialists poets, artists, paupers, the religious of many faiths, children and more. Find the gate where the brochures are which help direct you to the interesting aspects, as its a huge place. Its not very protected so choose the time and day you visit. EnjoySee more..

The Heritage Track starts from the carpark beside old courthouse building at Kiandra on the Snowy Mountains Highway. Not very well marked but enough of a flattened grass path to find your way from ruin to ruin and respective information boards. Overall circuit, which includes crossing road, takes around 30 minutes. Worth doing as pass through.See more..

Just turned 140 years young this impressive Colonial era building dominates the lower end of Yass's main street. One of many old Yass buildings which are all worth a stroll through the main drag & to relax when off the Hume Highway sprint.See more..
What an enchanting little town... I didn't aim to go to this town, but I am certainly glad I did... there is something quite hospitable about it. This Heritage Town Walk which identifies 20 places of interest around the town and provides information about each location. It is a great way to learn about the history of the town while enjoying the ambience. It is best to just go for a wander around town, though some highlights are the brick post office ,the Federal Hotel and the Memorial Hall. Also of interest is the lead window at St Aidan's Anglican Church which commemorates the European pioneers in the district. I was up early in the morning and there is something really enchanting about the stillness of the town at that time of day. There is much to look at if you are a lover of the nostalgic side of country towns. Also the information signs on each building are in really good shape.See more..
4.0Bald Hill walking track(2 reviews) - Historic easy walk Spent 1-2 hours Historic Sites • Points of Interest & Landmarks • Historic Walking Areas
If visiting Hill End Historic Site, this is a very do-able walk for most people. Commencing across the road from Post Office building at the end of Tambaroora St (at Reef St), the start of the walk and pathway is clearly marked in the open green space opposite. Plenty of free parking. It is around a 4km loop track that is clearly signposted. Along the way will see a number of information panels at key spots. Several ruins, creek beds, old dam walls and plenty of natural bush flora and fauna. Numerous birds and we spotted lots of kangaroos and wild goats. During the 1850s this area would have been crowded with tents and prospectors looking for their fortune. No facilities so carry your own water and supplies plus need reasonable closed in footwear, sneakers will be ok.See more..
5.0Ben Scott Swing Bridge And Heritage Walk(1 review) - Suspension bridge across the river leading to nature walk Historic Walking Areas • Bridges • Scenic Walking Areas

3.0Wilsons River Experience Walk(1 review) - Riverside walk Points of Interest & Landmarks • Historic Walking Areas • Scenic Walking Areas
Looking for an easy walk in Lismore City Centre then head down to the river, there's a path between Fawcett Bridge and Riverside Park, the walk is somewhat of historical and cultural interest. Starting at the Browns Creek Pump House we followed the river and the Flood Levee wall and gates down to Spinks Park, passed the Band Rotunda (1914), Memorial Baths, and finally to the bush-tucker garden and the collection of informative info boards on the history of Lismore in Riverside Park. The path runs parallel to and one block away from Molesworth Street making it easy to access shops and cafes. Watch of out for wildlife, I nearly stepped on a small snake on the path near the Memorial Baths.See more..
