    I have been visiting Bellingen for more than 30 years now and on each visit I like to step inside this fabulous old building that dates from 1900. These days it sells mainly high-end clothing and shoes (downstairs) and Asian fabrics and knick-knacks on the upper floor. But the wonderfully evocative old photos on the staircase provide an insight into a time when the building, also known as Hammond & Wheatley, was Bellingen's department store and premier shopping destination. It is so good that the owners of the building have not destroyed its beauty and character in a quest to modernise. The charm lives on, and in spades. Well worth a visit, upstairs and down.
