    Spent one of our afternoons climbing Muttonbird Island. The path is steep but not excessively so. Great views of the city, beaches, marina, coastline, the hinterland and the nesting areas. Be warned though, the lookout on the far side of the island is VERY windy - so don’t wear anything loose, otherwise it will go flying! See more..

    Montague Island Nature Reserve is a small island located on the far south coast of New South Wales, a short boat ride from the picturesque seaside township of Narooma. Originally just the location of a lighthouse, today the island is a very special place and home to 12,000 Little Penguins, thousands of Sheawaters and up to 2,000 Australian and New Zealand Fur Seals. During the whale migration season in June - July and September - November humpback whale sightings are frequent. The NSW National Parks and Wildlife Service manages this award winning nature reserve.     South Solitary Island is located approximate 18km offshore from Coffs Harbour, New South Wales. The island consists of a lighthouse and keeper's quarter's which were built in 1880 and considered the oldest in the area. The island was abandoned in 1975 when the lighthouse was automated with all residents leaving the island at that time. Access is restricted to the public and visitation is only possible by helicopter when tours are run by Precision Helicopters and National Parks and Wildlife. See more..
