  2. 4.5 Day Dream Mine (354 reviews)
    - What a great historic site!

    Day Dream Mine image
There is so much cool history here and our guide was full of knowledge! We went on a Sunday which did have a surcharge. They have collected a lot of original mining items to put on display both original to this mine and from elsewhere. You start above ground and do a little walk around with commentary followed by putting on the hard hat to explore the dark tunnels below! You do have to pay extra for scones and a beverage which was all homemade. “Jonique Life” Follow our journey around Australia on Facebook, Instagram and YouTube as we highlight wonderful experiences and magical places you can add to your ever growing bucket list. 3. 4.5 Wellington Caves & Phosphate Mine (337 reviews)
    - Caves, Crystals and Fossils
Spent 1-2 hours Caverns & Caves
Wellington Caves & Phosphate Mine image
Our tour guide was Paul, who was quite engaging and did a good job of sharing a wealth if knowledge and history about the caves and the local area. The tour we completed was in the Cathedral Cave, and we were fortunate enough to be part of a small group, making it a much more engaging experience. Due to rainfall in the area a part of the cave was unaccessible but it was still an enjoyable trekk down with lots of information. Apparently, during the summer/warmer months the tours for the phosphate mine don't run due to safety, but apparently well worth doing in the winter months. There is also a small exhibit in the main building with information about fossils found in the area (which were also spoken about in more detail on the tour). Overall, an enjoyable time in the Cathedral Caves. See more..
  4. 4.5 Glow Worm Tunnel (161 reviews)
    - Unique experience
Spent More than 3 hours Caverns & Caves
    Glow Worm Tunnel image
A pretty long walk, with decent climbs. You gotta be pretty fit to complete the hike. The tunnel itself is amazing. I didn't expect it to be this long... Inside it's complete darkness and there are sections where the ceiling looks like Milky Way shining with the worms. Was very wet when we were there, had to hop over a stream going through the length of the tunnel all the time, and we all got our feet soaked. Unfortunately, part of the loop walk was closed, so we had to backtrack, will come back to complete it for sure. Also, to get to the start of the walk you'll have to cross a stream, so be prepared to take your shoes off and carry little kids over... See more..
  5. 4.5 Sandstone Caves (145 reviews)
    - Well worth finding your way here
    Caverns & Caves

The entry off the road was quite hard to find, as rightly requested by the traditional owners, and we drove past it first but saw a small sign when we turned around. Good track to the car park. It is well worth seeking out as beautiful sandstone walls and the changing colours and hues were just amazing. Similar to other reviewers, we just kept taking photo after photo as we walked around just before sunset. It is definitely a quiet and peaceful place to enjoy ‘being with nature’. Okay, it gets a little ‘noisy’ as you head back with the distant road traffic; but up to that point it was wonderful. See more..

Super fun for the whole family. A great opportunity to see a lot of native Australian wildlife out and about. The cave tour was fantastic. Our guide, Adam, was very knowledgable and enthusiastic. Well worth buying a ticket to get into the Bush rangers cave. See more..
  7. 5.0 Pooh Bear's Corner (68 reviews)
    - Family travels to the coast via Clyde Mountain

    Pooh Bear's Corner image
I have been traveling regularly to the South Coast from Canberra ever since I could remember. There was always a little alcove as part of the Clyde Mountain. When I was about 10 or 11 someone placed a Pooh Bear in this alcove. It stayed there for many years. As it grew older and started to deteriorate, it was removed. By this stage it had unofficially become Pooh Bear’s corner. After it was removed others started placing Pooh Bears at the corner. They were also removed. Public outcry saw council erect a sign at Pooh Bears corner, which has now become a home for many Pooh Bears and other stuffed bears. As a kid I used to look for the Pooh bear, my kids always looked for other Pooh Bears, see how many there were, see what types there were, as we travelled down the Clyde Mountain. Now I have my grandchildren looking to see the Pooh Bears and other toys in the little alcove on the Clyde Mountain in a glorious spot officially called Pooh Bear’s Corner. See more..
  8. 4.5 Borenore Caves (24 reviews)
    - If you like exploring...you'll enjoy this
    Monday: 12:00 AM - 11:59 PM Spent 2-3 hours Caverns & Caves
    Borenore Caves image
If you enter the cave complex via the stairs to the left of the foot bridge, ensure you have a good torch (mobile phone light won't cut it), otherwise you won't get very far. If you do, you will eventually need to grip a chain fairly tightly and tread carefully on the way down into the main arch. Otherwise the 600m long track around to the right will get you comfortably to the main arch. Kids will find it fun to explore the area but will need to be well supervised as any cavalier kids could lose their footing and that could end the day badly. Otherwise a really good place to visit. The picnic area is also a cracker with plenty of space to even kick a football about. See more..
  9. 3.0 Limestone Caves (3 reviews)
    - Cool caves, bats and birds
Spent 2-3 hours Caverns & Caves
    Limestone Caves image
Twenty eight kilometres from Ashford on the unsealed Limestone Caves Road, in Kwiambal National Park, are the Limestone Caves. You need your own lights and be mindful bats roost in the caves while breeding and should not be disturbed. The road in is okay as long as you watch for roaming stock and kangaroos. The site itself has some picnic seating and a toilet (camping currently not allowed). When we visited fairy martins were busily building their mud nests - worth the trip on its own. The caves were cool and as there has been no modification a degree of care is required. Bring a picnic lunch and enjoy the quiet. See more..
