Ricardoes is an absolute gem. Real tea made in a pot, with hot scones just out of the oven and their own strawberry jam - MAGIC. Picking strawberries and tomatoes is just a bonus. This place is a must stop on any road trip!See more..

Barb was a little dynamo who did not hesitate to make sure everyone had a good time. The meals were outstanding. We had Syrian chicken and a lemon meringue pie for dinner. Breakfast was just marvellous. John cooked our sausages, hashbrown, vege pattie on the flat cast iron plate over the fires and Barb showed me how to make toast, outback style. She had 10 choices types of cereal (not many hotels have that many), yoghurt, fruits and a juice. The rooms were clean with fresh sheets but basic. There was an ensuite and the bathtub was a bit of a challenge. The Darling river is at your door step. It is a peaceful place where you can sit on the river bank and contemplate life. It gave me an appreciation of the hard life on a farm and it was a wonderful experience.See more..

Several members of this 4th generation family business were there to serve our group of six who had phoned ahead to make a booking. They carefully presented a wide range of cheeses made on site, and accompanied by a platter of locally made antipasto. A wine-list complimented the cheese platters. On this cold day a hearty soup, quiche, and other lunch stapes were available. They were topped off with a choice of deserts and hot chocolate, chai tea or coffee. It was helpful to discover this business caters for lactose intolerant customers and offers almond milk and skim milk options. The lovely setting displays a range of local arts and crafts. The owners greeted a steady stream of customers who came to eat or buy the range of artisan dairy produce. We will happily return to this unique and friendly business.See more..

During the tour you can enjoy spotting several types of birds (black swans, kingfishers, etc) and Dennis will tell lots of information regarding the birds, plants and trees. The day generally went as follows: Check in, have your tea and biscuits, followed by a ride down the hill on the back of a tractor to feed the Emu's & Donkeys, see the pigs, hold rabbits, milk a cow, learn about wool and watch Blaire or Steve sheer a sheep. Its a great way to learn about the animals, and get up close to them. The day also involves learning how to throw a boomerang, cracking whips and baking damper on the fire.
