  1. 4.5 Mount Panorama Motor Racing Circuit (980 reviews)
    - Stunning views & an appreciation of how hard the race drive must be
    Scenic Drives
Mount Panorama Motor Racing Circuit image
It is indeed a privilege to be able to drive around this iconic circuit, even if it is only at 60kmh. Take care though as some corners can catch you out. Also vehicles drive the circuit in both directions, so be very wary & alert. The views from the viewing platform at the top are nothing short of amazing & breathtaking. The addition of this walking gantry & platform are brilliant. We did about 5 laps & you will have speeding & tailgating idiots who just cannot help themselves. We had one motorcycle sit extremely close before flying past & doing a wheelie down the hill. Enjoy the experience & enjoy the views as they are spectacular! See more..

    Waterfall Way image
Fortunately the road between Bellingen and Dorrigo was opened again following floods and landslides. Bellingen was a wonderful stop for poking around in shops and morning tea. The climb to Dorrigo was spectacular as was the scenery from the Skywalk at the park information center. A couple of days exploring the towns and national parks along the way to Armidale revealed great walks, waterfalls and lots of serenity. See more..
  4. 4.5 Sealy Lookout (36 reviews)

    Sealy Lookout image
Having decided to have a bit more of a lazy day in Coffs Harbour, we drove to the Forest Sky Pier, which is literally a pier that’s been constructed at a high lookout point in the forest. It gives an amazing view out across Coffs Harbour and the surrounding countryside. We went for a walk along one of the forest trails in an attempt to spot some koalas in the wild, but unfortunately were unsuccessful. The area is also a culturally important area for Aboriginal people, who used the unique vantage points that the area has to lookout to sea and across the flat lands between the sea and the mountains. If you have the time, this is definitely worth the visit. See more..

  6. 4.0 Bylong Valley Way (28 reviews)
    - Scenery along the Bylong, WOW!!

    Bylong Valley Way image
My wife and I have just completed a return trip from Port Stephens to Hill End and back. We travelled via the Bylong Valley Way in each direction and I have to say this is one of the best kept secrets in the country. After the recent rain we have had, the grass has just exploded into lush Emerald Green growth. The road passes between sandstone escarpments each side of the valley for much of the trip. The road is sealed all the way and aside from a couple of steep hills with very broad hairpin bends, is reasonably flat and a pleasure to drive. We towed a three ton caravan without any difficulty. It's now in our top ten drives in the country. Pete. See more..

  9. 5.0 Lions Road (5 reviews)
    - Driving heaven
    Spent 1-2 hours Scenic Drives
    Lions Road image
The Lions Rd is a famous motorcycle cruising ride or Sunday drive, and the centre stretch along a very picturesque piece of country. Twisty corners take you past farmlands, and fern lined forests with numerous running creek crossings sometimes across original rickety wooden bridges. The road from Gradys Creek to Cougal also crosses under some quite old railway bridges that set a fabulous scene. A camp grounds at Running Creek are a good stop, as is the Border Loop Lookout. It's well worth seeking out See more..

    Michael Lerner Lookout image
This is a small lookout just south of Bermagui & well worth a quick stop for the rugged coastline views. Michael was a wealthy US philanthropist & a well known big game fisherman who with his wife Helen visited the area for a lengthy period in 1939. They were chasing the Black Marlin and as patron of the American Museum of Natural History they were after photos & exhibits to display in the proposed Australian Hall on their return. He obviously made a big impression on the locals ?? See more..

It now provides an interesting stop along the Snowy Mountains Hwy See more..
  13. 5.0 Old Coach Road Drive (1 review)

    Scenic Drives
    Old Coach Road Drive image
The short drive takes in the ruins of the Rockholes Hotel that was built to accommodate passing trade between the two towns, as well as spectacular rock formations like Wana Karnu and Split Rock. Also along the drive you'll find great spots for viewing the kangaroos, wallaroos and emus that live in the park. After a 10km drive to the end of the road, you'll see that Split Rock is a 3km walk from the carpark, so come prepared for a bit of bushwalking and plenty of photo opportunities. 14. 5.0 Kidman Way (1 review)
    - Seppuku
Spent More than 3 hours Scenic Drives
    Kidman Way image
The good news for you is that when you are driving the Kidman Way is that you only have to look out for snakes, lizards, wild goats, kangaroos, galahs, cockatoos, eagles and livestock on the road...which makes life rather interesting. I believe I spent more time than I should have trying to swerve around vivacious lizards than I should have... they wanted to stand in the middle of the road and model... sadly many were dead on the road and it saddened me...so I went from being sad to angry... angry because it was like they wanted to seppuku - you know, like the Japanese want an honourable death. .. as do the lizards! But when the lizards aren't battling with mechanical devices ... there are gorgeous wildflowers to look at along side the road... stunning bursts of colour. The soil is a red colour so everything pops ... the green, the yellow, the purple, the whites.... it's an exceptionally stunning drive. The road was inspired by pastoralist Sir Sidney Kidman’s desire to open up inland Australia. The route cuts through the centre of rural NSW from south to north which means you will be going through historic and quirky towns... I believe the driving distance if you want to do this drive is 820 kilometres and you could do it in a day...but then, what a waste! There is so much to stop and explore. See more..
