We were a group of 4 people and we did the Taste ‘n’ Graze tour. It was definitely worth it and we would do it again. Doing a tour that includes food made it more interesting and we advise you to do the same, even though it gets a bit more expensive. iHop was on time and very professional, with hand sanitizers available during the covid crisis and also cleaning the parts of the bus that mattered on every stop. Wineries get quite busy and you might not be able to go in if you don't book it in advance. A tour makes things a lot easier and removes the concern of planning. A perfect day! We fed pelicans, went fishing, learnt about oyster farming and crabs, pulled up crab nets and went yabby pumping. Even in the rain it was fantastic fun! The boat is lovely and it is an easy trip around the estuary. We finished with lunch at the restaurant, I had the best mud chilli crab I have ever had, and I lived in Singapore! So much meat! Everyone on the boat was so lovely too! The kids had fish and chips, they are fish bites which was a little odd and the kids didn't like that, so I would probably had preferred to buy adult fish and chips and divide them for the kids. Our two boys had their first surf lesson with Joe this morning. Joe was very friendly and took great care of the boys (11 & 13) they really enjoyed it and were up on their boards, surfing! An excellent, informative and enjoyable tour learning about the life cycle and farming of oysters. Scott our tour guide was lots of fun and very energetic, had endless knowledge and answers to every question asked by the group. Highly recommend for anyone visiting the area and wanting to learn about oysters. Beautiful scenery, great to taste freshly shucked oysters on the water and also be shown the technique of how to best shuck oysters which we have used since when buying unopened oysters. Called in to try their olive oil as we love to cook and are always looking for new products. Extremely friendly owner provided us with plenty of info re the different oils - we bought the lemon and lime as well as the early pick - just perfect for what we want and also bought some for our friends who are avid cooks! She also offers an outlet for other local producers to sell their products. Didn't have time to try the cafe foods but everything is made by the owner and looked really good. See more..

Three of us spent Sunday afternoon in the Hawkesbury River during the Immerse Yourself oyster-shucking experience. The wonderful Sheridan took us to her oyster leases and explained oyster farming before we donned waders and started shucking our own oysters and prawns. We sipped on French champagne as the water lapped around our legs and ate an extremely generous mound of wonderful oysters, which we sprinkled with Sheridan’s spectacular elderberry vinaigrette.
