  2. 4.5 Pylon Lookout at Sydney Harbour Bridge (1.798 reviews)
    - Pylon, worth the Walk
Monday: 10:00 AM - 5:00 PM Spent 1-2 hours Lookouts • Observation Decks & Towers
Pylon Lookout at Sydney Harbour Bridge image
For those who want a great view of the harbor bridge and the city, this is a great and cheaper alternative to the bridge walk. It ends up almost half the height of the bridge itself and well for $19 vs $300+, it was well worth the price. Yes there are lots of stairs and when you think you are done there are more, but there are plenty places to rest and catch your breath and the stairs aren't steep. (I have bad knees and made it) . They have a video about the construction of the bridge which is interesting (Its in about 10 parts of little videos, but the whole series took maybe 10-15 minutes? See more..

Went to the Lookout to see the sunset views and were mesmerized by what we say. The views of the valley and the color of the sky as the sun goes down makes it so beautiful. The place is not crowded so you can spend time peacefully and click as many selfies as you want or just enjoy the natural beauty with your eyes. Its a must see place/lookout . See more..

    - Awesome sunset over Australian plains

    Hay Sunset Viewing Area image
As we stayed overnight in Hay, it meant this time round we had time to go out to see the sunset. We were in for a treat! Perfect weather, quite a few cars but plenty of room to get perfect photos. Go about 1/2hr prior to sunset so you can enjoy a good hour. We went in the middle of July and it was cold, so rug up and enjoy a sunset over the plains. See more..
  6. 4.5 'Burrima' Boardwalk (14 reviews)
    - An all weather access to the Macquarie Marshes
Monday: 8:00 AM - 8:00 PM Spent 1-2 hours Observation Decks & Towers • Educational sites • Scenic Walking Areas
    'Burrima' Boardwalk image
We found it quite challenging to find reliable information on accessing the Macquarie Marshes to view bird life. We found the Windows to the Wetlands centre in Warren to be most helpful. An excellent access point is the Burrima Boardwalk, just off the Warren-Carinda Road, about 130 km north of Warren. We did a day trip from Warren to this site and spent some hours enjoying the beautiful access to the wetland. The time of our visit was not great for birds but we now have a good sense of where to go when we next visit during peak season. The advantage of this boardwalk is that it is mostly accessible even when it has been raining. The $25 per car entry fee is well worth it for what you get. Earlier Trip Advisor posts provide more detail. Highly recommend! See more..

A definite must see is this locally inspired montage which is dominated by native animals (a giant koala and bearded lizard) and a collection of local landmarks, historic buildings (Narrandera Brewery) and popular activities (Tiger moth memorial) all linked by the Murrumbidgee river. There are also indigenous symbols, which pays homage to the indigenous Narrungdera inhabitants of the Wiradjuri nation in the intricate design. See more..
  8. 5.0 Salt Caves Fire Tower (5 reviews)
    - Nice Picnic Area, Cave and Fire Tower
    Observation Decks & Towers
    Salt Caves Fire Tower image
We had been to Dandry Gorge and the sculpture trail and decided to drive up to the fire tower and Salt Cave. The cave has some interesting history and goes back quite a ways. The tower is very substantial and gives great views over the Pilliga. There are bbqs and picnic tables as well as a clean bush toilet. The facilities all looked quite new. There was also a camping area being constructed adjacent to the picnic area. The bird life was amazing and there is an information board illustrating the birds found in the Pilliga. See more..

Looking out above Dalmeny Beach & with a good view of Montague Island on a clear day this large lookout gives a great view of the coast & would be an easy viewing platform during whale migration times. With several information boards it provided a nice spot to view & learn some of the local history. See more..
