4.5Shelly Beach(1.501 reviews) - NIce little quiet beach near manly Beaches
This is a little quiet beach tucked in adjacent to north head in manly. It is not just a fantastic site for swimming in quiet waters but also a site for scuba diving as there is a conserved reef and marine zone close to beach. On a sunny day it can be pretty crowded being very small in size.See more..

4.5Coogee Beach(952 reviews) - Better than Bondi Beach Beaches
If you are doing the walking trail between Bondi & Coogee Beach, I highly recommend starting here for a couple of reasons; 1. It’s easier to head back into the city as there are more buses back into town, or you can bus it to Bondi Junction and then take the train, 2. I found it to be an easier walk as at times it was more descending, compared to walking to Coogee Beach felt more ascending and finally 3. If you start you walk in the afternoon, you get the sunset backdrop on Bondi Beach which is stunning. All that being said, Coogee beach is awesome. Heaps of pubs, restaurants and cafes around. 4.5Palm Beach(701 reviews) - Palm beach has it all Beaches
Well worth the trip up the northern beaches peninsular along the winding road from Newport ( the road can be busy and slow on peak beach days) The beach itself is long and pretty, with a surf pool at the southern end. There are good facilities to change and have a rinse down after a swim If the surf is too rough, there is always the calmer waters of Pitwater on the western side of the peninsular to have a dip. The views up to the northern end take in the spectacular hilltop that houses the Barrenjoey lighthouse. Lots of good places to eat, grab a coffee or a cool drink Parking is fairly generous size wise but like most beachside suburbs, there is a charge by the hourSee more..
I have been visiting Nobbys Beach since 1971 . It is Iconic location due to many reasons . It is a beach that was created due to the change in Harbour entrance back in the early 19th Century . It has significant heritage value . It is also the beach where the Japanese owned Pasha Bulka landed in the 2007 storms ... naturally the Japanese owners were very embarrassed however having this near brand new ship stranded on the beach led to a massive boost in tourism as people flocked to Nobbys to witness this major event. As a result local cafes etc trade was boosted 20 percent plus over the period . Some locals wanted the ship to stay and turn it into a restaurant or a hostel for the homeless. However naturally it had to go . Local ingenuity raised the ship from the sand and put it back to sea. For the last 3 years Nobbys hosts the Super cars in November. It is truly a beautiful destination and not to be missed when visiting Newcastle.See more..
In my opinion Balmoral is the best beach in Sydney - provided that you are not wishing to surf. It offers the following: Easy access via public transport either by way of frequent bus or ferry and bus. Well tendered facilities - swept sand, protected child swimming area, garbage bins regularly emlptied, modern change rooms with showers and toilets. There is a patrolled beach section, large grass/park area with shade trees. Dining opportunitys are eclectic ,ranging from economical take away to high end. Like all popular areas car parking near the beach is relatively expensive. Enjoy.See more..
4.5Terrigal Beach(626 reviews) - Yet another lovely, broad sandy beach in this part of the world Beaches
Another lovely sandy beach, broad and with decent sized ocean waves for those inclined to surfing. On the mid week day we visited it wasn't so busy, so strolling along was a particular pleasure, enjoying the fine, sunny weather. It was nice to meet some of the local reptilian inhabitants sunnying themselves on the broadwalk.See more..

4.5Tamarama Beach(481 reviews) - Best beach along Bondi Coogee trail Beaches
Along the Bondi to Coogee trail, I believe this is the best beach in my opinion. It’s the most well rounded, has a bit of everything beach; not so crowded, nice clean sand, outstanding views, nice little green park behind the beach, bbq facilities on offer, public toilets, little public gym area and of course that beautiful blue water. Personally I prefer this than the crowded and touristy Bondi Beach, but just depends on your own tastes. See more..

4.5Merewether Beach(353 reviews) - One of the beat beaches in Australia! Beaches
From the beach to the wonderful ocean baths, Merewether Beach is amazing all times of the year. We’ve smashed out fitness goals in winter with that long set of stairs and cold water swims, to cooling off in Summer with a splash in the waves. Great to watch the coal ships go past and we always seem to see at least 2 aircraft. A busy and friendly place that we’d recommended visiting if you’re looking for a beach along the Newcastle coastline. See more..
The air temperature was 12 degrees at 7am but we decided to punch out a few laps anyway! Hubby swam 1km, I think I got to 250m before my lips turned blue so I warmed up with a cold shower on the point (yes, it actually felt warm!). I’m glad I braved the cold water, it was very refreshing and the rolling motion caused by waves entering the pool on the north side was very calming. The pool was teaming with aquatic life which would interest kids and snorkellers. Well worth the visit! Lots of parking and public toilets at the top of the cliff.See more..
This Beach is well worth visiting especially late in the afternoon. It is a pleasant stroll and shows off the Ocean and the beaches and the mountains all meeting to form our great coastline. We enjoyed walking along the beach just picking up rocks and talking to others, very relaxing time. Recommend for anyone visiting this beautiful part of Australia EnjoySee more..
4.5Lennox Head Beach(276 reviews) - Central California Throwback Beaches
The surf breaks and vibe of Lennox Head give a passing resemblance of Baja in the 1960’s or California’s Central Coast a generation before that. The 3 block downtown is quaint and has shops that serve both the tourist and locals. The area is growing so go now before it’s taken over completely by developers building McMansions.See more..
4.5Wategos Beach(208 reviews) - Byron’s best beach Beaches

4.5Pebbly Beach(151 reviews) - A wonderful encounter Beaches
Pebbly Beach is a beautiful sand beach famous for its swimming kangaroos. The local kangaroos often come down to the water for a dip on a hot summer afternoon, and if not will be lazing about on the dunes behind the beach. It is one of the only beaches in Murramarang National Park that is accessible by car.See more..
this place is a place full of surprises. we walked to find a spot to chill and fish. didn't have any luck that day but the water was beautiful. we then walked back and ended up at the beach area. there was a cliff where people were jumping off a cliff into the water. that place was fun. people were scuba diving near the beach. seemed like a cool place.See more..
4.5Bennetts Beach Hawks Nest(126 reviews) - Long endless beach with soft sand and shells. Cars allowed on beach Beaches
Lovely long beach. Surf can be variable and often has shark alarms. Soft sand and heaps of shells for kids. Toilets nearby and outdoor showers. Tiny surf club so flags will always be quite narrow which during holidays means lots of people in a small space. If you go for a walk watch out for cars travelling along the beach. Surf club was closed when we visited so no afternoon drinks but you can walk down the road to get this.See more..
4.5Avalon Beach(116 reviews) - All year round sensational beach and village Beaches
I may be a little bias here as I live in Avalon beach and have done since 2003. It has been likened to a mini Byron bay, which is a fair description. Just 1 hour north of Sydney the beach is pristine and the village is a hive of activity. There are some great shops to browse through and a plethora of cafe's and great places for dinner. There's a cinema, several bars and a Woolies supermarket, plus 2 bottle shops in the village. It's a great place to spend a weekend in the many AIRBNB options around the village. Highly recommend.See more..
We caught the Tea Gardens ferry from Nelson Bay and had the day exploring Tea Gardens and Hawks Nest. The day was hot and our first port of call was a swim at Jimmy's Beach in Hawks Nest. We walked from the Ferry, it takes about 30 minutes, the route we took was over the Singing Bridge then along Moira Parade then through the bush, cross the Anchorage to the beach. Jimmy's is a stunning beach, fairly shallow with calm clean waters, perfect for children. The beach has beautiful views of Nelson Bay. Highly recommendedSee more..
4.5Elizabeth Beach(107 reviews) - Such a Beautiful Beach Beaches
Every time we visit Elizabeth Beach it is different but stunning. There weren’t many people on the beach in our last visit. The creek on the Eastern end was running out, the water being quite brown from the Tea Tree swamp from where it flows. The views over the hinterland are beautiful and the beach has a nice protected aspect. It is patrolled by the local surf life savers during the summer season and is often the beach where surf boat competitions are held.See more..

Took a day trip up here from Merimbula and the whole walk from the carpark to the beach felt like an adventure, same going to camel rock. The Shells on the beach are massive and you need to have a little dig through the rock pools if you want to find some really good ones. Rock formations are amazing, sand quality very softSee more..

4.0Wagga Beach(91 reviews) - Inland Beach - great picnic spot Spent 1-2 hours Points of Interest & Landmarks • Beaches
Riverside: Wagga Beach is a popular, natural, attraction in Wagga Wagga. There's great access to the Murrumbidgee River, plenty of grassed, shady spots for a picnic, sheltered barbecue areas, a playground and seats to sit and watch the world go by. Splash about and cool off at the sandy beach area during the warmer months. Or, launch your kayak or canoe from here and see part of our city from the water. Riverside: Wagga Beach is also part of the Wiradjuri Walking Track in Wagga Wagga. Stop off here for a rest as you wander the track, or start here and discover more of our city. Riverside: Wagga Beach is just five minutes from the city's CBD, so you don't have to travel far to find this small piece of paradise when you #visitwagga Note: if you do enjoy a dip in the Murrumbidgee River remember to have fun, but most of all, stay safe, wear a life vest and #respecttheriver.See more..
Port Kembla Beach is a really nice patrolled beach with a good wave. We parked near the Olympic Pool but late realised there was also parking up the top at the Surf Life Savings Club. The beach was nice and sandy and clean with easy access. While we were there a surf school for young kids turned up which was great to see. There is an amenity block near the Olympic Pool complex as well as the Olympic Boulevard Eatery if you want some coffee or a bite to eat.See more..
We did the Mundooi walk across from the parking. We did the walk, and came back along the beach. The walk starts with a wade across Merimbual creek. We saw Rosellas, plenty of yellow tailed black Cockatoos and lucky enough to spot a curled up red belly black snake by the track, hidden away in the grass, and on our way back along the beach we came across a nesting shore bird. The up close and gliding image of the majestic black Cockatoos, with their shrill cry in the background over the bushes, and then going over a track mount with the beach coming into view, has been a memorable experience for me.See more..
4.5Callala Beach(80 reviews) - Paradise at Callala Beach Beaches

4.5Lighthouse Beach(78 reviews) - Lovely beach, quiet and not touristy Spent 1-2 hours Beaches
I was here the week before Christmas, so I'm not sure how busy it would've been after that, but at 4pm on a warm sunny day there weren't many people around at all. I had a nice walk along the beach through the waves. Lovely views, nearby carpark, has a shower for washing off the sand, and there's a pub just down the road to visit afterwards for beers and meals too.See more..
4.5Forster Main Beach(73 reviews) - A must see on the Mid North Coast Spent 2-3 hours Beaches
There are a lot of beaches on the mid-north coast of NS, but Forster Main Beach is one of the best. There is an enclosed beach pool at one end, a fantastic channel walk at the other (the narrow passage that links the beautiful Wallis Lake to the ocean), and a wide, calm swimming beach in the middle. It doesn’t get heavy swells - there’s a good surf beach on the other side of the channel - so it’s a great beach for families. Throw in the great Beach Bums cafe at one end, the lovely Sicilian restaurant at the other, the frequent visits by dolphins, and plenty of parking.....why wouldn’t you come here?See more..
We walked to Chinamans Beach from the Murchison River area in Kalbarri since it was visible from the foreshore area. There were lots of people there and quite a few of them were casting lines from both sides of the beach. The beach itself had quite large waves. The sand was soft and fairly fine. It was nice walking along the beach instead of the footpath. The other end of the beach leads to Zuytdrop Memorial and the Back beach, which eventually leads to the Blue holes if you keep walking along it. It was a nice place to play in the water and enjoy the beach life.See more..

4.5Burgess Beach, Forster(59 reviews) - Burgess Beach is Like Being on a Tropical Island Beaches
My visit to Burgess Beach was on a hot day without a cloud in sight. The water was aqua and crystal. Swimming on the beach looks dangerous but I enjoyed a great swim in what the locals refer to as "the washing machine". The beach is surrounded by rocks and hills and if you climb over some of the rocks you will discover a remote part of this beach. The photos below are some of what I took this day and I think they say it all. This beach is not patrolled.See more..
4.5Bouddi National Park(57 reviews) - Great views and well kept trails National Parks • Beaches • Nature & Wildlife Areas
A beautiful place to visit on a nice day. Parking can be found at Putty Beach camping ground for $8 if you would like to do the coastal walk. We only did part of the walk as it goes all the way up to Macmasters beach. Even so, the short 2 hr walk we did was wonderful with the cliff boardwalk was the highlight. The beaches were not very clean due to the recent rain I presume but still amazing to see the waves crashing into the rock formations. Safe for kids to walk but do keep watch due to some cliff areas not being fenced off . Well worth the visit. See more..

4.5Horseshoe Bay Beach(52 reviews) - South West Rocks - Windy one day, Perfect the next Beaches
We stayed at the caravan park at Horseshoe Beach just a few steps away from the sand. My husband actually had a dolphin swim right past him chasing its breakfast. The water is aqua blue and so clear you can actually see small fish swimming around your legs. The caravan park got a little windy some days, but that's to be expected being right on the water at this time of year especially - most days were perfect. It was an amazing 2 weeks and we rate it as our most fav place in Australia.See more..
