The cheers bus, driven by the amiable John, is a great way to taste wine and beer and spirits. They pick you up at your accommodation and drop you back off at the end. It includes a visit to a chocolate store, a cheese shop, a brewery, a distillery, and multiple wineries. There were three parties on our bus, for a total of eight people. Everyone was friendly and it added to the enjoyment. It also gave we foreigners a chance to ask questions of the locals. It includes a lunch stop, which you pay for based upon what you order. That was our only critique of this experience – – the restaurant was mediocre with very slow service. Otherwise it was a great experience.See more..

Loved this experience with German our friendly and knowledgeable guide. Because this is a small and owner operated tour it felt so much more personal than the bigger tours we encountered. Bird life and wildlife was all pointed out to us with a couple of stops en-route to Mungo NP to check out the native plants and scenery. A severe weather warning as we arrived at Mungo meant that we had to cut the trip a little short, but we certainly didn’t miss out on an experience. With one eye on the weather front and the other on us, we were given a guided tour of the Chinese walls and hunt for shells and fish ear bones. The approaching dark clouds gave us more dramatic photo opportunities and the drive back between the lightening storms provided the adventure. We missed all of the rain but the sky certainly put on a show for us and we were able to see the sunset from the top of one of the old lakes. Highly recommend this tour, it felt real and personal not touristy. See more..

I had no idea this unique experience was so close to Sydney. We had a wonderful day out visiting Pearls of Australia. I learnt so much about growing Pearls, Pearl qualities and the industry without having to go all the way to Broome. Although now it has got me interested in visiting Broome as well. Liz and all the staff were very friendly and knowledgeable. Travelling out to the oyster leases with Bryce was a real highlight it was so nice to be out on the water and look at the oysters growing. Bryce had a lot of knowledge he shared with us about the process of growing pearls. We then went to the Mooney Mooney club just next door for a delicious lunch. I booked the day tour for myself & two friends who were all visiting Nelson Bay for a girls weekend away. Christine was quick to respond & answer any questions I had from the first time I made contact. She came all the way out to Nelson Bay to pick us up, took us to some great wineries, was super accommodating when we requested an additional stop to a winery that was not on the itinerary for the day & also did a McDonalds stop for us on the way home too! What a great day we had with Craig on the walking bushranger tour of Canowindra and surrounds! All five of us (3 adults and 2 kids, aged 7 and 9) really enjoyed the day. Craig is a born storyteller, and we were all fascinated by what he shared with us. We were lucky to have a beautiful sunny day for our tour, so the walk around town was very pleasant. If you want the most amazing experience then we recommend booking a trike tour with Max. We did the Megalong Valley ride which started when he picked us up at The Carrington Hotel and kitted us out in helmets & warm leather jackets, strapped us into our seatbelts and away we went! Down around Scenic World, out to Narrow Neck then hugging the cliffs as we headed west to Blackheath before dropping down through the rainforest into the valley. Nothing was too much trouble. Max made sure we were comfortable and saw everything. We stopped at great vantage points and had lots of photos, as well as great conversations. Having a perfect day helps, but Fiona is full of interesting historical information but not too talkative either! We had a great time seeing fishermen catch one of the biggest flatheads we've ever seen, seeing and feeding the sea eagles and pelicans. Fiona even made them dance at the jetty! Jhob took time to explain the process and we alll enjoyed the experience of gold panning in Hill End. Whilst gum boots are not required I highly recommend having these so you can freely explore and get dirty. No need to bring any panning equipment or shovel as they are provided. We all found gold. We went in winter and the water for panning the gold is very cold. But not a deal breaker.See more..

I traveled over to Tea Gardens on the ferry, hadn't really researched things to do at Tea Gardens. Rang up Myall Coast Tours which was recommended to me. They were happy to take me out on the Beach Bus despite me being the only one booked for that tour. My guide was wonderful and very friendly, she had a great knowledge of the local area and also took me to the Myall art and craft centre and information centre where I was able to buy some lovely crafts. Vic and Mel run amazing bespoke tours of the Snowy Region. Vic arrived on time in an immaculately detailed Range Rover 4WD. He provided us with water, and then took us to meet some very interesting people. Lunch was an amazing gourmet picnic with the most incredible view, and the afternoon was spent touring the region, seeing the amazing varied landscaped of the snowy region, and doing some brumby spotting. Vic went above and beyond to give us a memorable day and I highly recommend this day tour to get a feel for the area and see some things that you wouldn't necessarily find on your own. 5 stars!See more..

We decided pretty last minute to schedule a tour to the Hunter Valley and we stumbled upon Paul and Group Wine Tours. We chose them because they could pick us up where we were staying in Newcastle. The tour was fantastic. Paul was friendly and knowledgeable and it was a pleasure spending the day with him. We learned a lot about wine, the Hunter Valley region and Australia in general. The cellar doors he bought us to were awesome and each one different. The behind the scenes tour with the owner at Capercaillie was the highlight and the best wine tour experience I have ever had. It was amazing hearing the passion and knowledge directly from the winemaker and tasting directly from the barrels. It would be hard to overstate how great that was. We had lunch at a beautiful country club, saw kangaroos in the wild and ended the day with a cheese tasting and a stress free ride back to our VRBO. We highly recommend Paul and Group Wine Tours it was really the highlight of our time in Newcastle.See more..
