My recent visit to ski at Perisher Blue was a great experience. Started our day at Snowsports Rental. Awesome service from Alan and staff. Nothing to much trouble for them. Excellent knowledge and service provided. The benefit of renting your gear with Snowsports Rental on the mountain is that you can drop into their location and solve any problems on-mountain quickly. This beats having to sit out the day if something goes wrong or having to drive back to Cooma or Jindabyne to upgrade your gear. Thanks guys. See more..
  2. 4.0 Thredbo Alpine Village (454 reviews)
    - Chairlift pricing in summer has gone through the roof
    Ski & Snowboard Areas
    Thredbo Alpine Village image
Thredbo is a lovely village and the gateway to some beautiful walks and views in the Kosciuszko National Park, including the walk out to Mt Kosciuszko itself and I have loved to visit it for many years now in the warmer months. Unfortunately the resort that operates the chairlifts to take people up and down the mountain have now decided to gouge visitors to an extent that has made it extremely unattractive to go there at all now - $55 per adult for a minimum one day lift pass! At $220 that makes it a *very* expensive idea to go up the top for a walk amongst the alpine flowers and stop off at Eagles Nest restaurant for a drink afterwards for a group of four adults as we were. They really need to bring back lower cost single or two ways passes as that pricing is quite frankly ridiculous. It might be value for mountain bikers going up and riding down all day, but it is absolutely unfair for those who just want to go for a nice walk or visit a special place for lunch. Save your money and drive around to Charlottes Pass if you want to walk to Kossie - it's just outrageous. See more..

  4. 4.0 Charlotte Pass (73 reviews)
    - Charlottes Pass to Kosciuszko Peak return walk
Ski & Snowboard Areas • Beach & Pool Clubs
    Charlotte Pass image
We did the full circle Charlottes Pass to Kosci walk over Easter as a family and had a great day out. All up it was about 23 kms (plus another 2 to get to the car, be early if you want a good parking spot) and took us about 6 hours which included a toilet stop just near the peak, lunch on the peak and me walking slowly due to soccer injuries! The walk there along the track is not overly fantastic as it is all a gravel road however it is well appointed and you can stop at the Seamans hut which has some great views ad worth a few photos. Take plenty of water and enough food to last as there are not stops along the way and we didn't find anywhere other than the toilet block to source water (well there are a few streams) so be safe. The return walk along the peak was far more picturesque and just to be up there in the fresh air, no technology and just nature was fantastic. Worth taking the day and then finding somewhere for a good feed on the way out as you will need it. See more..
  5. 4.0 Perisher (33 reviews)
    - Fantastic private lessons with Brooke!
Spent 1-2 hours Ski & Snowboard Areas
    Perisher image
We had 2 private 3 hr lessons over 2 days. There was 4 of us and we were total beginners! Our teacher was Brooke, and she was absolutely fantastic! Over the 2 days, we went from total noobs to being able to ski down basic, ‘green’ runs at Smiggins and Perisher. Brooke was an excellent teacher, patient and an excellent communicator. We highly recommend! Good tip for families with mixed ages- book a private lesson and the whole family (up to 6 ppl) can join in, otherwise you are separated from your under 15s who have to join an age specific group. Will book again next visit to help guide us to the next level. See more..

    - Beware of Day Tripper Promo Campaign
Spent More than 3 hours Ski & Snowboard Areas • Cross-country Ski Areas
    Charlottes Pass Snow Resort image
My experience could be improved by actually being able to get to Charlotte Pass to ski (using the pass I had pre-purchased on the basis of a promo campaign!!). We had booked for Tuesday, 23 Aug 22. At 1610 I received a text and an email (the text has since disappeared from my phone???) telling us that they were cancelling all Day Tripper tickets for 23 Aug due to expected poor weather conditions. We had been watch BOM weather forecasts for weeks and their forecast was for reasonable conditions on 23 Aug at Charlotte Pass. Hmmm. On 23 Aug we checked the Charlotte Pass web cams and there were plenty of people skiing and obviously enjoying their day. We emailed Charlotte Pass to explain we are unable to accept their offer of a credit day THIS SEASON and could be please have a refund. Still waiting........... Then I read the reviews about the over-snow transport breaking down and throwing a track. Now I have to doubt the reason given by Charlotte Pass for cancelling our tickets. See more..
