4.5Ballina Memorial Pool and Waterslides(5 reviews) - One of the most beautiful 50 metre pools in Australia with a great community vibe Sports Complexes
I've been swimming in olympic 50 metre pools all through Australia and I'd rate this one in the very top tier. The view and vibe on the Richmond River are spectacular, dramatic. The actual tiled pool is great, clean and salt water, heated - with a 25 metre covered facility for kids and lessons. The staff are wonderful and friendly - proper Aussie family business that feels family/community - and the council splashed out for a dramatic rebuild of the pool a few years back. The pool is an incredible community service and site: great facilities and inclusive for all physical impairments. I'd rate this as one of my top 3 outdoor pools anywhere: up there with Tobruk Pool (Townsville, on the Strand, views of Maggie Island) and Kitsilano Pool (Vancouver, largest outdoor heated pool in North America 135 meters plus, views of English Bay).See more..
4.5Monckton Aquatic Centre(5 reviews) - Great summer picnic venue for kids Spent 2-3 hours Sports Complexes
The Armidale Pool (Monckton Aquatic Centre) has had a refurbishment in the last few years, and is now a great place to swim a few laps in an outdoor heated pool but also a fantastic place for a picnic and a swim with young kids. The complex has a lot of shady spots under trees or shade sails, and a number of picnic tables for lunch. Great spot for birthday parties, family picnics or family gatherings while kids go nuts in the water. Great large grassy areas with no bindis, and lots of space to spread out and relax. There are two kids pools: one for toddlers and one for preschool age kids. As well as this there are then two 50m pools, one for lap swimming, and one for bigger kids to swim in. The big pools are fenced off so little kids can't wander off and find their way into the big pools. There's a canteen for food, cold drinks and icecreams, but you can also bring your own lunches. A great way to spend a hot day with a young family or group of families. Highly recommended.See more..

5.0Dungog Swimming Pool(1 review) - Love it Sports Complexes Dungog public pool is honestly a rare gem. My kids love going there every time we're in area and friends who have visited say that their kids still ask about going back there to swim. It's clean, not too much chlorine, has a water slide, diving board and lovely areas for parents to sit if they don't feel like swimming. A very refreshing change from the horrible, overcrowded and heavily chlorinated pools of Sydney. Worth a visit if you're around the area.See more..

We love smashing out some laps in the pool for exercise and always seek out the public pool on our travels. Scone Memorial Swimming Pool was one of the best we've ever swum at.
