I had the best afternoon SUPing on the Brunswick River yesterday. I was lucky enough to be the only one booked on the tour, and my guide Darcy was very friendly, informative and made sure I had fun. He took lots of photos for me too, which I really appreciated. It was so peaceful gliding through the mangroves, and we saw pelicans, other water birds, fish and stingrays. Do you or your children have disabilities? Shano is your man! My daughter (can’t swim yet and has physical disabilities) had a private lesson & she had the BEST time. With his help she was able to stand up & ride a wave, duck under waves, her confidence in the water skyrocketed & she has a biggest smile on her face the whole time. Shano’s ability to modify instructions was seamless and his energy, positive attitude & genuine love of working with children shone through. We had our three children booked in with Coastlife Adventures to participate in the SurfGoms program at Tathra in early January 2021. Unfortunately, due to the sudden closure of the Victoria/NSW border, we had to cut our holiday short and subsequently had to cancel our lessons. Coastlife were very undertstanding and provided us with a FULL refund, despite their policy stating that we would only get a 50% refund. What a generous act! Was originally booked as private lessons for a beginner adult but the kids (aged 8 & 9) decided to give it a go as well, and loved it. There was no problem with this last-minute change. Corey kept all the instructions clear and simple, and didn't overload anyone with too much information. Everyone was catching waves and standing up already by the middle of the lesson. Best activity for kids!! Super safe under the watchful eye of the coaching team. Multiple staff in the water with the kids. My 5yr and 9yr old had the best time over 3 days and could stand up on day 1. I took my friends (an adult and child) along for a Sunday class at Woopi. Being from land-locked Las Vegas, they weren't sure they would be surfing after one class, but they were surfing after one wave! Great fun, great value, and awesome instructors! I've had multiple beginner group classes with Miles and the team and have felt myself progress with each lesson. Every coach is dedicated to making sure you get the most out of your time and they give you feedback on almost every wave. It's an awesome atmosphere and the team are very encouraging and supportive. The kids have attended surf lessons in Sydney but this was their first Surf Groms program. Chris, their coach, was fantastic with both of them, encouraging as well as helping them push themselves. He kept it fun so they always wanted more. We were lucky to score an almost private lesson as they were the only enrolments. I was impressed that it wasn’t cancelled. Emails are answered promptly and my questions were answered. This program would suit hesitant beginners as well as more experienced surfers. My partner and I spent some time over the Summer holidays camping around beautiful Minnie Water. We both surf and have our own boards but only usually during the Summer months when it’s warmer. We booked an intermediate surf lesson with Cam & Ossy to try and step up our surfing abilities as we usually just catch white water waves. The waves were really fun with small peeling waves out the front of the Minnie Water general store. We were shown different techniques and immediate feedback of our own surfing. By the end of the lesson we were able to catch and trim on the face of green waves as well starting to bottom turn. We were stoked! Cam & Ossy were both super helpful and friendly. Patiently explained and demonstrated proper technique including how to safely fall. Went into the ocean. All 4 children (age 11 to 21) got up and surfed for 90 minutes. Recommended!See more..

I had a fabulous time paddling on beautiful Queens Lake. The instructors were really good fun and I loved it!! I would recommend this to anyone visiting the Camden Haven and Laurieton. Had such a great time at Jungle Surf School! Booking was very easy and Charne was responsive to our enquires and flexible with our schedule. As two first time SUPers, we found her patience and relaxed approach helpful; not only masterful at SUP, but also adept at managing newbie nervousness (and the fear of falling in the drink, which we did a few times through no fault of our instructor!). I would even encourage those who might not be brand new to take advantage, as it is a wonderful window for visitors to the Great Lakes region to learn about Wallis Lake and its surrounding communities, all while enjoying a relaxed paddle amidst clear waters and the buzz of life visible onshore.
