The Stokers Siding Dunbible Memorial Hall image
Yesterday, the 1st Friday of the month, my partner and I had the privilege of attending a dinner-concert-talent show at the community hall in Stokers Siding. It was a ridiculously cheap night out with wonderful home cooked food, really classy entertainment, beautiful decorated hall and appreciative audience. The only regret was that not enough locals know about this event.... the hall should have been packed with people. Admittance was only $10 pp. Three main meals were offered at $8 each. Vegetarian lasagne with salad, chicken cacciatore with rice, beef ricotino (?) with rice. Dessert ($4 each) were, Tiramisu, chocolate marquise, and Ricotto cheesecake(?). With two good cooks, including an Italian lady, needless to say the food was excellent and generous in helpings. The talent on offer was brilliant: 5 acts included: bush poet and author Phil Latz, balladeer Rod Sims, ageless cabaret singer Kerry Stephens, surely world class tenor David White, and established singer/artist Kim Banffy. It was a gloriously satisfying night out and I could not wait to get home and write a review about it. As the old saying goes: "Do yourself, and your family, a favour" and attend future at the SSFMF....we will see you there!. See more..
