    What started out as a lousy visit, had a great finish! The weather was terrible, the mud deep, the rain on and off, windy, low temps, restricted racing, huge crowds, expensive dagwood dogs & hot chips, poor site planning and me back in a tent after 20+ years sleeping snug in the Carnival!! The organisers have the hide to charge full freight ($230) for a site with a tree smack dab in the middle?? But we are there for the racing & sadly it was the last run for Holden, a sad day indeed! But happily, SVG & Tander got up for the General one last time with Chaz just behind. A thrilling finish to a Great Race after 161 laps and 1000k's. Not too sure if the visits that started in 1972 will continue in Gen 3? I'm too old for tents & cold! See more..

    It's a bit out of the way but when we found it the kids couldn't wait to pull on their racing suit and get on the track. Hubby also had fun. The track was interesting in design and well maintained. They had about 15 minutes driving for the price of the ticket. See more..

    A totally value for money ($20 per adult) afternoon / night. Take a camping stool, a picnic rug and a jacket. Good range of food and drink stands, really enjoyed the steak sandwich and cold Bundy. The speedway is very well organised and the races flow, our Good Friday started at 4.30pm and finished at 9pm starting at heats and finishing at finials. There where demolition derby, street saloons, wingless sprint cars and the favour V8 modified that do the track completely sideways and sound awesome. Good entertainment from host with the kids getting involved and Easter egg giveaways. Plentiful parking our front and super friendly locals. WELL WORTH A VISIT.
